Q:How many brackets would I need to mount an 8 foot board

Answer This Question

A:  It really depends on the stiffness of your board and how much weight you plan on it. Simple case I would do 3 brackets.... one in the center and the others about 1 foot in from the ends. Too far from the ends and the boards will bend under weight.

Q:Can this bracket be used to support a linoleum countertop that rests on a cement wall covered in tile? I'm putting food service equipment on the counter that weighs 75 lbs. There us already a support bracket under the counter but that may not be enough.

    Answer This Question

A:  The Everbilt 12 in. x 8 in. Satin Nickel Heavy Duty Shelf Bracket may be an option for this application as long as it does not exceed the weight limit of 600 lbs each or 1200 lbs per pair. The surface should also not go more than 2 inches past the edge of the bracket. The brackets should be no more than 24 inches apart. All these things will help to ensure the brackets can perform up to their weight limits.

This is the perfect shelf bracket for supporting somewhat heavy items in a garage. Just make sure you are using 2.5 inch screws or longer that are going into a 16" On Center wall stud. The holes that would be under your 1x12 shelf board can be hard to get to, but using a self-tapping screw with a hex head you can secure the board to the bracket (I used all 3x holes) with the screw at a slight angle and keep on trucking. Nice finish & well-made.

Nice enough to be in plain view in living room.
Very nice nickel finish shelf brackets. Currently holding a 35-pound center speaker, cable receiver and antenna. Figure 5 pounds for the shelf, 5 more for the electronics plus that speaker. Bolted it to brick using Redhead masonry anchors. Great product, solid as a rock.

Built of carbon steel with plenty of pre drilled holes and these are not stamped parts and they worked well for me.
