Q:Can I order this rope at a length of 10 feet?

Answer This Question

A:  Generally the store can cut rope to length ,so if you need 10' it is best to purchase at the store. Online it is available in 1 foot pieces.

Q:This rope is classified as for use in wet conditions, docks, etc., but the specs (see attached image) indicate it does not float. Could you please confirm whether this rope floats or doesn't float? Thanks. Greg

    Answer This Question

A:  No, it doesn't float that I know of. It's a standard dock line. I am currently using it on my 27' boat in a lake marina slip. Went through a big storm awhile back. No problems - held well. We'll see how it holds up at the end of the season.

      A:  Does not float.

A:  Sinks like a rock. It's a non-floating line. I'm not using it for that purpose but I like it. Floating lines are made from a different material and aren't as strong per diameter and a little rougher to handle. I'm using it for tree work.

          Answer This Question

A:  This rope is made of polypropylene, so it would depend on whether or not you have a reaction to this material. With that being said, this rope is not for use to support human weight or athletic equipment, not for overhead lifting, or other situations where personal safety or valuable property can be endangered.

A:  Yes, indeed it is. Not as soft as Japanese silk, but definitely does the trick!

              A:  yes.

If you want strength, Nylon rope is your best friend! Should be your "go to" for just about any project! Love the large loop at the end it comes with woven in "brilliant" Quick order and Store pick up was appreciated as this project had a tight completion date. Unfortunately its not easily seen but we used it to secure the Teepee at the top by drilling a hole through each of the upright landscaping poles, pulling them tight and wrapping around all 5 poles. the rope was also uses at the bottom of each landscaping timber by again drilling through each timber and running the rope through each. This secured the poles at the bottom as well making it easy to move. Nylon rope was easy to use and easy on your hands to pull. slightly burning the rope with a match at the ends prevents from fraying makes for easy sliding through pole holes.

Used four 20-ft cut lengths of this rope to connect two Alaskan Cedar trees to wooden support stakes. The rope is soft and flexible, yet doesn't show signs of stretching or creeping loose over these past three months. It was important to use the Home Depot heated cutting knife to cut the sections of this rope to prevent any fraying with unwinding at the ends of each of these four lengths.
