Each pot has drain holes, and they sit on a raised ridge inside the tray. So the tray keeps the pots from draining out all over your table.

Dear Valued Home Depot Customer, We have reached out to the manufacturer and their reply is, The bottom tray does not have holes however the cells for your seed starting mix and seeds does in effort to give drainage as needed. The bottom tray as mentioned does not have holes in effort to retain any over watering and the soil can absorb back as needed. Our best to you this season.

The pots have small slots on the bottom so they can draw water. The tray is solid so you can pour water either on the dirt or in the tray so the plant can draw water from the base.

I got a couple years out of mine, but hardly worth the effort. The “pots” and tray should be soaked in bleach or Lysol solution before reusing. The tray is easily cracked if not picked up with two hands.

Very thin and easily torn when separating the pots. But don't let that bother you because these are nice for transplanting seedlings to grow larger before placing outside. Like tomatoes.

If you are carefull with the cells, you might get 2-3 seasons.

It’s probably okay for a couple years if you’re careful but not for years I would think.

Not throwaway but being gentle with them when planting into ground will help any thin walled pots last more than one use.

Dear valued homedepot customer your reply is, Thank you for your question. This item is designed to use in conjunction with our Jiffy Seed Starting Mix or sku 1001054332. If you use pellets they will not fill the whole cell however we would recommend using our Jiffy 36mm peat pellet refills or sku 1001054318. Both the refill pellets and seed starting mix can be found in stores. Our best to you this season.

I didn't use plugs, I used regular soil and plants didn't "pull" when removed at all, the pots large enough to tap the bottom and they pop out.

I find it cheaper to fill with potting mix from a bag. I like the organic mix sold by HD.

I cover mine with plastic kitchen wrap until the first shoots appear. Never had a problem. For extra fast germination in my (cooler) basement, I place the kit on top of a warming mat.

I had several tree seedlings getting root bound in small pots. This tray and small starter cups fit the bill. So far I've had the containment tray and starter pots in use for nearly a month. They seem to be holding up to the Texas head and UV exposure. My only complaint is that the containment tray is somewhat flimsy; make sure to use both hands.

Item was listed as in store - I went to pick it up and it wasn't. I had to order it on line and wait a few days for what would normally be a next day delivery. It's a plastic tray with 18 seed pots. When loaded with soil and water it's best to put a board underneath when moving it. I found out the hard way that it can buckle and make quite the mess. So far I don't have a green thumb - but hope to improve. My AeroGarden is easier - -

Great value and easy to use for planting seeds. I planted different seeds on each pot and it already started to growth plants. This is a great product for the first time buying this por seed it works and it was easy to handle. Thanks

                                            Nice Seed Starter
I really liked being able to take these 18 pots and separate them out to be decent size individual pots for my garden project. I was not expecting all my seeds to germinate like they did this spring, so i was able to give some away to my neighbors...We all now have been having peppers and green beans all summer long. The pots were a very good size and I only had to transplant them once - and that was to my big container pots! I recommend this seed starter.

These seed starter trays are great. They hold a good amount of soil so the seeds have room to grow before being planted outdoors. The trays themselves are good at catching excess water and hold the individual pots very steady. I have moved mine several times and they contain everything nicely. The pots are pretty thin and with care may hold up for more than one use but I haven't tried to remove the plants yet so that is to be determined. I would suggest buying these.
