A: I’m not sure but whatever it is, it has kept it’s brass finish for the several years that I have had it installed. If you need something like this I don’t think there are a lot of options so I recommend getting g it.

These were very useful on a couple of doors that seem to shift back and forth a bit each year. The strike plate is mainly adjustable horizontally but is large enough vertically to also allow for some flexibility that way. Also the horizontal adjustment can be easily changed at any time by just loosening the screws a bit and sliding the main plate over. Now both doors close easily. The strike plate is much larger than the original strike plate so it's cosmetically a bit off but easy to install and no one really looks at the strike plate when the doors are open anyway.

Occasionally, with an entry door the strike needs very fine position adjustments to obtain the proper contact pressure where the door face and weather seal meet. This strike makes that adjustment a fairly easy task, for both the installation and the adjustment.

Unfortunately this door strike is of no use as my house is 1950's vintage and it does not come close to being of use. As it does not remotely fit with my existing strikes I would have to reinstall new doors and it is not worth the cost and effort. I will be in Oak Harbor Whidbey in a few days andhope that I can get a refund.

This product is sturdy and made well. The problems is they don't tell you in its description that the screw holes don't match the existing holes for the standard door strikes. This makes this product USELESS, unless it is the first strike to be used.
