Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for contacting Fiskars. While this item doesn't come with a blade sheath, you can loosen the bolt that holds the blade in place to turn the teeth away from you. Or simply cover the blade with some sort of material.

Total Piece of Garbage - Do Not Waste Your Money
This tree pruner broke while cutting a relatively small branch (less than 1” diameter). The rope disconnected from the pulley. Fiskars does not respond to any emails and cannot be reached by phone.

Would have given 5 stars if there was a stowage for the rope; I glued a small plastic cleat so when using the pole in the shortest mode the rope is not in the way.

Bought this new and improved 16 foot reach Pole trimmer...
Bought this new and improved 16 foot reach Pole trimmer and I wasn’t disappointed. The blade is very sharp and quickly brought down the some fairly large limbs. The cutting blade is much easier to use with very little force compared to my old pole saw. I am really happy I bought this new pole saw. I was able to reach and trim up a large Mesquite tree in no time!

Many design flaws and broken after about 1 year
This tree pruner was purchased for occasional usage on the trees surrounding my house. My negative experience with this tool was due to the follow three problems: 1) The chain drive on the lopper often froze between cuts, 2) The extension locking tabs stopped working effectively after several uses, and 3) The saw is flimsy and difficult to use effectively. I believe this put too much torque on the head leading to the crack in the attached photos.

            Not durable enough
It has good height adjustments so I was able to extend it to the 16’ mark and feel stable enough but the pulley blade snapped within an hour of my first use. If I can’t find a replacement blade cheap enough then I’ll be returning this for a replacement.

Worked great - very happy with it!
I would recommend just spending a little more and buying this one instead of the models with less extension and smaller blade. The unit came assembled except you have to attach the blade. The wing nuts attaching the blade were hard to turn and I needed plyers for it. That's the only complaint. In the picture I show just some of the pile of limbs I cut down within a day using the Fiskars pruner. Both the limb cutter as well as the saw blade worked very well for my project.

                Broke within first 10 minutes
Got it home and used it for about 10 minutes before the entire frame of the head cracked apart cutting a 3/4 inch branch. The frame seems to be made of a cheap cast metal and can't handle any real stress from normal usage.

The tool is not difficult to deploy or to use. It functions well and does the job intended.

                  Titanium-coated blade is almost useless
Will not cut thru soft 3/8 branch because the Titanium "coated" blade separates from the opposing fixed plastic cutting surface. Then it jams on the branch so you have to physically rip it down to release it from the tree. I will return it for the cheaper old-fashioned all-metal lever-action version that cuts. But extra star for the long pole.

                    Fiskars 16 ft pole saw
Just bought my second Fiskars Pole Saw because I needed a longer reach. The saw blade is terrible compared to my old saw. Old blade on previous model cut twice as fast. I would rather climb on a ladder and use my old one!
