Jury is still out
Still in the process of opening the pool/getting it ready for swimming so I can't definitively rate the materials filtering qualities, but the cotton "balls" ejecting out during backwashing the filter is odd to say the least.

Using this for my above ground pool. I am using a salt water system with sand filter pump. I replace the sand with the cotton ball. This work well enough for my 12' dia. 36" deep pool.
