Questions & Answers

Q:Can you increase the length of the venting hose? If so, what is the limit before I burn the unit?

Answer This Question

A:  Hi, Cachi. Thank you for reaching out. The hose can be extended from its original length of 15" up to 59", but it is best to keep the length to the minimum required. ~Ruth

Q:I just bought this unit. With my understanding after reading the manual is that I have to constantly have the hose to drain it? Is that correct

      Answer This Question

A:  Hello, Christine. If you select the Dry mode, you will need a garden hose to drain the condensate from the appliance. But if using the Cool or Auto mode, we recommended to disable continuous drainage by replacing the drain cap to the drain outlet to reach the maximum performance. We hope this helps, but feel free to connect with us via Live Chat on our website or our Customer Support line at 1-800-374-4432 (M-F, 8:30AM-8PM EST) if you have any other questions. ~ Margaret

          Excellent portable ac
Love my portable ac. Just unpack it and plug it in. I have it on my patio that I recently had sliding Florida glass/vinyl panels installed over my screening. I live on this patio but heat was rough. Even with sun beating in, if I have overhead fan full speed, this little guy keeps it comfortable. If sun isn’t beating right in, it can get downright cold if I want. Great adjustable speeds and temp controls….remote works great. I love fridgedaire ac products. Have a window ac for five years that’s great, too. Price is very reasonable. Hose to vent is decent length. Only problem I have (and it’s because of my installation) is when you attach hose to plastic piece that I have attached to metal sidekick to vent, moving the AC tends to pull hose halfway out from pop in plastic piece. Thr is not a good ‘grip’ or snap in. I’m gg to try Flex tape to hold it in place or I would recommend placing hose vent higher on wall or area where you want to vent. That would probably eliminate the problem totally. Mine is barely a foot off the floor so the hose is in a downward fall to the vent in kickplate. Having hose in straighter position should be perfect. Cleaning the filter is a breeze!!! It moves very easily and smoothly on the wheels wherever you want, and I’m a smaller person. I can’t recommend this little AC enough. Deserves 10 stars!
            Great Features
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We are very happy we purchased this Frigidaire AC. It is reliable and works very quickly.
              UPGRADE in GARAGE!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love all the choices on the control panel. I have been using it here in FL for about 6 weeks and I am happy to be able to lower humidity and/or temperature. When I need to, I can open my kitchen door and lower the kitchen temperature too! The company should provide a longer venting tube to the window for purchase. I recommend this unit.
                Cools Room Well
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Its been about two weeks and the cooling option is really good. Easy to set up amd does not take long to cool my room just that it is quite noisy
                  Love the design!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Got ours less than a month ago and we’re thrilled with it! Keeps our large, open area living room and kitchen cool and comfortable. Mice sleek design that sits on the floor so doesn’t have to take up a whole window like big window units do. Very pleased.
                    Cold indeed
We decided to buy this unit due to windows being so small in my apt and it fulfilled our expectations. Love it
                      Easy Peasy
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Does a terrific job of cooling our 18’ x 12’ living room (with cathedral ceiling) + adjoining dining and kitchen area! And minimal impact on the electric bill.
                        Did NOT disappoint!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the Frigidaire right after several out-of-character, unusually hot episodes in the geographical area where I live. I purchased my unit after much research and comparison. The forecast was that there would be more hot days. When it heated up, I was ready. I live in an 1100 sq ft upstairs apartment. My bedroom is on the 3rd level. I had to install my Frigidaire downstairs where the only window the exhaust kit would fit lived. That air conditioner cooled the downstairs enough to cool the area in my room upstairs enough to make it bearable. I am familiar with the Frigidaire brand. I grew up with it. My life experiences with Frigidaire advised me that a company with a long history of making refrigerators had the expertise to get this right!
                          DOE** BTU IS NOT 13,000
I ordered this unit because it says 13,000 BTU for ASHRAR and DOE. But according to the sticker on the box the DOE BTU is only 8,000. IT'S A SCAM!!!
                          Response from FrigidaireSupportOct 5, 2020
Hi, Gege! The ASHRAE and DOE ratings are different tests to measure the cooling power of an air conditioner. DOE was recently created to measure portable ACs, while ASHRAE is used for all air conditioners and is the one currently used to categorize them at large. The DOE rating for this model is 8,000 BTUs. It does appear that Home Depot has the incorrect information on their website; good catch! We will reach out to them to get it changed. ~Ashton Frigidaire

                            Don’t be fooled
The DOE BTU rating for this product is not 13,000 as advertised, but 8,000. Says so right on the box.
