Great Weatherstripping - BUY DIFFERENT SCREWS
This weatherstripping is great. I ended up using 4 sets for two 8ft entry doors and one 7ft garage entry door. In order to remedy the two 8ft doors, I bought an additional set and cut four 10-12" pieces to connect to the four 7' side pieces. Special note: Pay attention to the screw hole location on the weatherstripping before cutting to size. You don't want to end up with 6" on one end and no screw hole to secure it. Cuts very easily with a hacksaw, the kerf snips easily with standard scissors. Overall it looks amazing and functions exactly as I hoped for. The only negative is the screws that come with the weatherstripping. They strip very easily and break apart without applying much pressure at all. I even drilled pilot holes and still had 4 screw heads break off while fastening with a standard screwdriver. I decided to purchase a bag of 1" #6 Phillips pan-head screws and they worked beautifully for the remainder of my project. Plus I didn't need to drill pilot holes. One thing I would like to figure out is how to remedy the two separate pieces of kerf I joined together to fit the sides of the 8ft door frames. The door seems to catch on the seam between the two pieces and pops the kerf out as it opens, making a sticking sound. I may try a silicon lubricant, or attempt to bond the seam between the two pieces of kerf with some kind of tape. We'll see...

I would imagine that this package was supposed to do two door sides and the top, hence two 7 foot pieces and one three foot piece. However, I needed a top, bottom and one side. The bottom had to be improvised and I screwed the aluminum right into the the threshold, which is also aluminum. It was relatively easy to cut to length and to install. The screws, however were really crappy and soft. I had to use a hand screwdriver because my battery driver just rounded the Phillips quickly and one of the screw heads popped off from a normal install. Really bad hardware. Other than that, it did the job and my back door is completely sealed now. Should help my gas bill.

This product worked for what I needed it fo. The only reason that I didn't give it 5 stars was that it made the door difficult to close. The pilot holes should have been drilled more in the center of the elongated slot which I didn't see in the instructions. I drilled some on one side or the other of the slot and that made it impossible to make any adjustment. Just make sure that you drill your pilot hole in the center so you can adjust so the door will close properly.
