We recommend running the dishwasher while you’re home and awake, connecting it to the hot-water faucet and turning the faucet on only while the dishwasher is operating.
We have provided instructions on how to hook this dishwasher up to the sink on page 10 of the Owner's Manual here: https://images.thdstatic.com/catalog/pdfImages/54/54e2a4e0-de79-4c89-a7b7-1ebb5dbf6a07.pdf.
This dishwasher has what we call a Condensate Dry feature. With this drying system, condensation will form on cooler surfaces in a warm, humid environment. At the end of the cycle, while the dishes remain hot, the stainless steel tub walls begin to cool, causing condensation to form on the tub walls rather than on the dishes. This allows the dish load to dry naturally. Using a rinse agent helps prevent spots and film on the dishes while also assisting with the drying process.
Instructions for turning the end of cycle signal on and off can be found on page 6 of the Use and Care Manual here: https://images.thdstatic.com/catalog/pdfImages/54/54e2a4e0-de79-4c89-a7b7-1ebb5dbf6a07.pdf.
The power cord for our portable dishwashers is 60" long when fully extended from the dishwasher and therefore should conveniently reach a receptacle near the sink for easy use. GE Appliances strongly recommends that an extension cord not be used with a dishwasher due to the potential safety hazards under certain conditions. However, if an extension cord is used, it is absolutely necessary that it be a 3-wire, 15-amp heavy-duty type with a standard 3-prong grounding plug, UL® (Underwriter Laboratories) approved.
Cycle times can vary based on soil level, water temperature, etc. Generally, the time range for AutoSense is 1 hour and 30 minutes to 2 hours, Heavy takes approximately 2 hours and 10 minutes, and Light takes 48 minutes. Those times don't include drying time, options being added, etc. This is discussed on page 5 of your manual; that's linked here: https://images.thdstatic.com/catalog/pdfImages/54/54e2a4e0-de79-4c89-a7b7-1ebb5dbf6a07.pdf.
This is a portable model dishwasher. When you're ready to use the unit, roll it to your sink and connect it to your faucet as shown on page 10 of the Owner's Manual - https://images.thdstatic.com/catalog/pdfImages/54/54e2a4e0-de79-4c89-a7b7-1ebb5dbf6a07.pdf.
Normal installation involves attaching the wheels to the unit; the wheels are not already attached. Using it without wheels is not the intended operation. That said, there is no functional reason the dishwasher can't be used in that way. Please note that any protection from damaging the floor with scratches will not be in place without the wheels.
