Is it possible for condensation to form on floor below dishwasher?

Asked by Jojo October 16, 2020
1
Answer

Hi Jojo! Thank you for reaching out to us with this concern. We're happy to assist you. It is not normal for condensation to be forming on the floor below your dishwasher. If you're seeing water gather, you may have a leak. If suds are present inside, we suggest turning off the dishwasher and allow suds to dissipate. This may take several hours. Make sure any initial water is pumped out of the tub. Using the wrong type or too much detergent can cause oversudsing and then the suds can push water out of the tub causing a leaks or flooding condition. Only detergent specifically designed for automatic dishwashers such should be used. If the water is not draining and there are no suds present, or water is leaking from the air gap on the sink, there may be a plumbing issue. If the problem persists and it's not a plumbing issue, we recommend scheduling service with a certified GE Appliances technician that will be able to accurately diagnose and repair your appliance. You can do so by calling GE Appliance Service at 1-800-GECares (1-800-432-2737). We hope this is useful information. We're wishing you the best. - Guy@GEA

how many gpm

Asked by john August 21, 2020
1
Answer

Hi John - Thanks for viewing GE Model # GDT655SBLTS! The water flow rate for water entering the unit is approximately 0.8 gpm (gallons per minute). Our dishwashers pump 7 gallons per minute (gpm), this is the drain flow rate. If you have any additional questions, do not hesitate to ask, we are also happy to help at GEAppliances.com! Sue

Asked by Washman May 5, 2020

Answer

Hi Washman - Thanks for viewing GE! The dishwashers have time fill. The water pressure to the dishwasher should be 20 - 120 PSI (3/8" O.D. copper water line or 1/2" O.D. plastic water line). Using a water line that is too small will restrict proper water flow into dishwasher. Keep in touch! Sue

Asked by Annie April 12, 2020

Answer

Hi Annie - The start status indicator light flashes if the door was opened or the cycle was interrupted. The dishwasher beeps once every minute as a reminder that your dishwasher door has been left open during operation. It will continue beeping until you press Start and close the door. This can be referenced in the Use and Care manual on page 22: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-55119-2.pdf - If it is not operating as designed, we suggest rebooting by turning off power at the circuit breaker for 30 seconds or so. A qualified GE service technician may be required for an accurate diagnosis. To schedule service online, visit us at GEAppliances.com or call 1.800.GE.CARES (800.432.2737). Please have your serial number and your model number available when calling for service. We hope this is helpful. Keep in touch! Sue

what does a flashi g light with machine mean.

Asked by chip April 6, 2020
1
Answer

Hi Chip - Thanks for reaching out to us and for choosing GE! We are happy to offer assistance and can certainly understand your concern with the flashing light with chime. Dishwasher beeps once every minute as a reminder that your dishwasher door has been left open during operation. It will continue beeping until you press Start and close the door. Beeping at the end of the cycle is normal. Dishwasher will beep twice at the end of the cycle. Start status indicator light flashing indicates the door was opened or the cycle was interrupted. Press the Start button once and close the door within 4 seconds to start the dishwasher. Press the Start button a second time when the dishwasher is running only if you wish to cancel the cycle. If the electronics need to be reset, turn off power to the dishwasher at the home circuit breaker for 30 seconds or so. Here's the link to the Use and Care Manual for model # GDT655SMJES (See page 22): https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-55119-2.pdf - We hope this is helpful. Keep in touch at GEAppliances.com. Sue

Why covers on silverware basket

Asked by Cak1939 March 15, 2020
1
Answer

Hi Cak1939- Thanks for choosing GE! Silverware/flatware is loaded using the silverware basket lids. This ensures great wash performance of the silverware. Loading in this manner prevents nesting and makes sure all items are washed uniformly. We suggest viewing page 19 of the Use and Care Guide at the following link for loading tips: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-55119-2.pdf - Keep in touch at GEAppliances.com. We are always eager to help! Sue

Love the hidden buttons and the black color.
The one thing that flabbergasted me on the first run was how QUIET it was while the cleaning cycle ran. It tells you when it is done by a cute little tune. Awesome dishwasher. Highly recommend it for you home.

I purchased this to replace my previous GE dishwasher that was only 4 years old. We had used it without a water softener so I assumed that was what had caused the dishwasher to quit so soon, however after having this dishwasher for only a year I am already having problems. The digital panel has multiple lights out on it and no longer shows how much time is left for dishwasher. I have reached out to GE but they do not have any authorized repairmen in my area. The other problem I have with this dishwasher is how long it takes to wash a load of dishes. Running just a normal wash with no extra features takes almost 4 hours! GE quality has definitely gone downhill from what they used to be. I would definitely look into a different product for the price you pay.

Short working life
The dishwasher was installed in Dec 2017, beginning of Sept 2020, it started, dishes not dry well. we have to run it on the longest, hottest cycle to get dishes clean, and I’m fairly certain the drying bar still isn’t getting warm (I’ve opened it during the ‘drying phase’ and put my hand over and on it and it isn’t hot). Another sign it isn’t getting warm enough is if we don’t run it for 2-3 days, a layer of greenish-black gunk starts to build up on the inside - you can see it on the door in the picture below.

I bought brand new dishwasher and less than 2 years, the parts started falling and breaking

Works great and super quiet!
Replaced an existing dishwasher. Was quite a project, but it worked out great! I think dishwashers in general are challenging to install! But I love it! Now my appliances match!

Quiet & Clean Machine
This dishwasher does the job every time. Had it for three months and it's a joy to use. It's very quiet and make kitchen life easier!

Replaced same part twice in less than 2 years
Part obviously has stripped threads. It fell off in the middle of a cycle a leaked all over our laminate floor, ruining the floor. Replaced the part, fell off again several months later, leaked into the floor again damaging the floor again.

I purchased this & three other GE kitchen appliances on Dec 5th 2018 (see my reviews) & this dishwasher is very quiet & has performed very well. It does a great job cleaning & it is easy to clean. The settings are easy to set/use & have came in handy. The removable sections are great for large pans or when not needed. I am very happy with this dishwasher & my purchase.
