Noisy?
Asked by cmlorieb April 25, 2016Only heard ice machine drop ice in tray for 1.5 years. It has newly started to make fan noises after being opened until the alarm went off. That is why I came to this page to ask if anyone else has had problems with possible defrost noises? This is growling fan whirring. It has the best ice and water system I have ever been around but an annoying fan noise. Could there be a possible problem with defrosting cycle? A little help from experts would be appreciated.

Asked by Dave May 5, 2016It comes with an ice maker located within the left side door. Its capacity is not much though. You can buy an optional second ice maker for $99.00 at home depot online, which would be installed within the freezer section.

Are the shelves in the refrigerator doors height adjustable?
Asked by Craig September 7, 2016Yes, the ones on the door without the ice maker in it are adjustable. One of the better features of this fridge, but hardly worth the misery you will have trying to keep it working a few months after you buy it. If you do go ahead and buy it anyway, be sure to buy the five-year extended warranty plan from Home Depot (not the one that GE keeps trying to sell you through the mail). You WILL need it to get reimbursed for the loss of spoiled food and the frequent repair calls that will occur once your fridge stops working. And after only three service calls for the same problem (believe me, that won't be a problem!) Home Depot will replace the fridge as a lemon. I'm still working on getting that to happen after my five service calls, but there seems to be light at the end of the tunnel -- thanks to Home Depot, not thanks to GE. Can't recommend highly enough that you NOT BUY THIS FRIDGE!

Asked by Tara January 28, 2018It doesn't make much ice. Ours is almost always empty. If you're having a party, you will need to buy a bag of ice.
