I have been hearing some bad things about GE later,how are the products
Asked by Reds July 30, 2016So today our close to $3000 GE profile refrigerator/freezer installed in December whose fan motor in the freezer section shorted out and caught fire is going on two weeks not operational. I have made at least 7 calls to the GE consumer support group. Was promised many times that resolution was insight only to find out person I talked to and promised action had lied to me. The latest is that it is “unknown due to a computer re-organization issue” at the parts warehouses if in fact parts to repair have been sent or not. No one at GE will confirm when of if or refrigerator will be repaired or replaced. DO NOT PURCHASE ANY GE PRODUCT! THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS!!!
Does the filter need changed, how often how much if so and is there an indication to let you know when?
Asked by Bagone April 19, 2016Yes it does need changed. I think it is around 3 to 6 months, it will give a countdown to how long it is before replacing it. It is also $50 for the water filter. You need to get the GE brand because there is a chip on the filter and wont register any off brands that do not have the chip.

Asked by ctaz September 3, 2016Hi ctaz- This is Sue at GE Appliances. We are excited to hear of your interest! French- door refrigerators have a water reservoir coil in the fresh food section that holds 12 oz. of water. The water is chilled and stored until it is needed. Since the reservoir is in the fresh food section, the water will not be ice-cold. After the 12 oz. of cold water is dispensed, any additional water dispensed will not be chilled until the water in the coil tubing has had time to chill again. Also, it features Space Saving Ice. The icemaker is located in the fresh food section, on the left fresh food door. The Space Saving icemaker stores 3.8 lbs. of ice that can be dispensed through the ice and water dispenser on the door, or by removing the ice bucket from the door. While you can store ice in the upper bin of the freezer, it does not features a separate removable ice bin. Thanks for checking with us!

Safe for children?
Asked by TSMom August 8, 2016Yes, it's annoyingly safe for children to the point that pre first cup of coffee, it will take you a bit to make the coffee...:) You have to press the hot water to get it ready. then you have to insert the keurig thing, then you have to hold the brew button for 3 seconds to get it to make coffee. Not that a 5 year old couldn't learn to do it if you taught them, but they wouldn't burn themselves if they were smart enough to crack this code.
