The GE Heavy-Duty Household Water Filtration System reduces sand, sediment and rust from your main water supply. It is a high-flow system with a 40 psi - 100 psi feed water-pressure tolerance. A clear sump allows easy viewing of the filter to monitor its condition and a canister wrench is included for easy filter changes. A bypass valve helps increase filter life when filtered water is not needed. This quick-connect system comes with hardware and an installation kit. It is NSF certified for safety and reliability.

This whole home filter along with the FXHTC filter which is available separately will work well for your needs. - Vikki@GEAppliances
This whole home filtration system is only designed to remove chlorine taste and odor along with sediment, as shown in this guide: https://images.thdstatic.com/catalog/pdfImages/f5/f5ac99c6-6659-49fc-a6dc-04747ef88175.pdf -- Iron present in water is measured in parts per million (PPM) and is sometimes called "rust". The total PPM of iron and the different types of iron are determined by chemical analysis. Water may contain one or more of four types of iron: 1. Ferrous or clear water iron 2. Ferric or red water iron 3. Bacterial and organically bound iron or 4. Colloidal and inorganically bound iron (ferrous or ferric iron). -- Ferrous (clear water) iron is soluble and dissolves in water. It is usually detected by taking a sample of water in a clear bottle or glass. A water softener such as GE SmartWater system softeners will remove moderate amounts of this ferrous (clear water) iron. -- To treat an iron problem other than moderate amounts of "clear water" iron, consult a local water dealer or distributor. For more details, search for the article titled “Water Systems Iron in the Water” in the Support section of our GE Appliances website. Lauren@GEAppliances

Whole-house water filters are not recommended to be used on the suction side of a well pump and are not rated for suction. They are always designed to be installed on the pressure side of the well pump. This way, the pump pushes the water through the filter, and the pressure is more manageable for the filter system and the pump. -Vikki@GEAppliances
