This Gearwrench ratchet and accessory set includes: 12" breaker bar 11" flex head ratchet 90 tooth 8" ratchet 90 tooth 15" speed wrench 3"- 6" - 10" extensions come in 3 configurations 1 - Locking socket end 2 - Wobble socket end 3 - Standard straight end 12" extensions come in 2 configurations 1 - straight 2 - Wobble end 18" extension comes only as straight end connector Most of these accessories are self-explanatory. When you get to the locking end (the extensions that include the black locking mechanism) the end actually locks the socket to the extension. This eventually makes the extension and socket act like an extra-long ‘nut driver’. This configuration allows you to insert a nut or bolt into an overhead assembly that you cannot start the fastener by hand. That assures you a connection without cross threading. A great plus when a ‘clean’ final assembly is important. All in all, this set includes every accessory you might want while doing any mechanical work. The only addition would be for the rare classic car mechanic where transmission removal might wish for an extremely long 36” extension.

The Gearwrench company has once again put together another great tool set. With plenty of 3/8 drive extentions. The set includes two 84 tooth 3/8 drive ratchets. The larger ratchet has a flex head which is a nice feature in those tight situations. Five different lengths of extentions. 12 inch 10 inch and 6 inch and finally a set of 3 inch extentions. Plus an one 18 inch extension thrown in for good measure. Also included is a speed wrench and one swivel socket extension. With each set of extensions there is 3 different types. One basic type the 2nd type with a quick release button and the 3rd set of extention's has the ability to be an angled. Like all Gearwrench tools has a fully polished chrome finish to resist corrosion. And an EVA Foam pad to keep your tools organized. Very nice feature. The Gear Wrench 3/8 In Drive 90 Tooth Ratchets and Drive tool Set is really nice and very nicely made. The EVA Foam tray is very nicely made and it motivated me to clean out one of my tool drawers for it. It identifies all of the drive tools in the set as well as some of the drive tools have grips on them. The drive tools have a nice finish on it and look nice made. The Ratchets are nicely made with one having a hinge joint and are quite thin, I will enjoy using this set when working on my engines. Just an all around great set to have in you tool chest. This ones a winner.

Just to clarify, this is not a complete socket set, it is a really nice expansion set for an existing 3/8 drive socket set. First thing, this comes with a dense foam tray that holds all of the accessories in place firmly and will fit into a typical 15 x21 drawer in your tool chest. There are 12 various size extension ranging from 3 inches to 18 inches and one universal joint adaptor, they are well made and sockets fit firmly, regardless of brand, tow ratchets are included a traditional fixed handle and a swivel head, these are listed as 90 teeth, the action is smooth and firm, and better than a typical 72 tooth set up. A 12 inch breaker bar is included and is comfortable to hold and grip. The last piece is a speed wrench for removing and installing bolts quickly. It is made well and does the job, not a tool that gets used often, but when needed is a great addition. Gear wrench makes good quality sockets and this is no exception, I tried this out with other brands such as husky and craftsman and all fit very well. The selection if extensions are really great for an advanced DIYer or regular homeowner. The built in storage tray is fantastic and eliminates the need to buy separately or chase these all across the tool box drawer. I do a lot of home auto repair and restorations, I do not believe in cheap tools and this will not disappoint you, the quality and finish are very nice and the selection will make you happy with the purchase.

This came nicely packaged. Arrived quickly as Home Depot products always do! Its placed in a very nice holding tray that holds your individual wrenches extensions etc. This tray will fit nicely in the new tool box I am about to purchase. It keeps all of your wrenches nicely organized and you cannot really mess up where the correct ones are to be placed. the material is very nice. All of the pieces are high quality and super easy to use. I use 3/8s for pretty much everything so this the perfect kit for my needs. The variety of extensions make it easy to access any area you need to reach! Also the angle adjustments on the large ratchet make it easy to get into a bolt no matter the angle! I am super happy with this tool kit! I want all of my tools in a case like this one has.

Gearwrench did a great job with this set. It is nearly a complete set of 3/8’s ratchets, extensions, and a universal joint. There are a couple of improvements Gearwrench can make to the set, but with wobble plus, regular, and locking extensions plus a long handle flex and regular length fixed head high tooth ratchet, and an outstanding presentation in the foam tray, it’s a set many will be pleased with and proud to own. So why 4 stars? Because there are a few things Gearwrench should have done to make it perfect: a) include the newer 90 tooth ratchets, preferably with comfort grip, instead of the older 84 tooth models with chrome handles. The foam itself is orange and black. The new 90 tooth’s with the orange and black handles belong in this set. It’s like GW tried to sneak these 84’s in because they had them lying around lol. b) include a 3/8 stubby ratchet. This is not a complete set without one (and is the speed handle necessary? It looks cool, but who uses a speed handle anymore?). If you want to be next level, include a 3/8 ratchet in a 1/4 body as well. Now you’ve got them all covered (but at the least, the 3/8 stubby should be in there!) c) instead of a long wobble plus or the extra long regular extension, include a longer locking extension. The longer extensions are for recessed areas. I can always pop a wobble plus on the end of another exension, but if I’m worried about losing my socket, having to pop a locking extension on the end of a non-locking one could lead to losing the locking extension with the socket, defeating the purpose and value of the locking extension. Clean up those transgressions above and you’ll deserve 5 stars all day long. As it is, borderline 4 for professionals, solid 4 for DIYers.

The Gearwrench ratchet tool set is a very nice addition to my tool set with its 48 tooth ratchet handles to give me the ability to work in tight spaces and work tight hardware out without changing tools. The set comes with 3 different extension lengths and 3 different length wobble extensions if you can not get straight on to a fastener. The speed wrench helps you finish fast if your working many fasteners in one area like fillips head screws. One ratchet has a knuckle joint head to use if there are obstacles in the way of your handle as you move the fastener in or out. The foam rubber tray fits snugly in my toolbox drawer and will keep the tools together and let you know if you missed one when your done with a job.

This is the ultimate 3/8” ratchet drive and extension collection made by GearWrench. The foam organizer works well and is perfect for storing the complete GearWrench set in your drawered toolbox. There are two ratchets, a rather well made 84T professional ratchet and an equally sturdy 84 T Flex Head ratchet that is perfect for addressing nuts in places that are not easily accessible. There’s a rather nice breaker bar for those nuts that need some convincing. The speed handle is well made with a knurled grip on the handle that allows the rest of the handle to turn freely. You can do some quick work with fasteners using one of these. I prefer the GearWrench style grip on the speed handle to those that just provide a knob. There are three sets of 3 extensions in 3”, 6”, and 10” lengths. Each set provides a standard extension, a wobble head extension, and a quick release locking extension. There are 2 - 12” extensions, a standard one and a wobble headed one, and a standard 18” extension. The wobble head extensions provide a wee bit of extra wiggle to provide access when things are just too tight for a rigid ratchet to socket setup. The locking extensions are my favorite. That socket is not coming off until you release it. You’re not going to leave a socket behind in a hard to access location on your engine using one of these. They also work very well with Crowfoot wrenches. There's also a nice 3/8" universal. I used some of the set to access and tighten the fan belt on my tractor. Once the trim panel was removed things got rather close quickly. The pictures only show the simple stuff. The extensions and the ratchets performed well and I was done in no time. Admittedly, an easy first project, but it still went very well. I like the feel of these tools, and especially the ratchets. On and Off seem to be straight forward designations. The grip was nice and the ratcheting was most positive. Everything in this set would be just as at home in a professional’s toolbox as it would be in a do it yourselfer’s. I’m happy and will be watching for similar sets in ¼” and ½” sizes. Hey GearWrench, these are nice and really well made.

I have several sets of 3/8 sockets and ratchets. They typically come with a 3 inch extension, maybe a 6 inch and maybe a wobble joint. But when I need a longer extension I was stuck with finding enough little ones to snap together. Not anymore. The long one in this set is 18 inches and there are several 12 inchers. The speed handle will also be handy. The ratchets are nice ones with fine teeth. Who doesn't need (want?) another wobble joint. The foam piece is actually handy too. The pieces remove easily but will stay put once pushed in. I will probably wall mount this.
