Our bathroom is small, so the chair would have to go over the toilet and into the tub that way in order to make enough room for legs

The Glacier Bay Tub Transfer Bench and Bath Seat is a high-quality bathing assist device. When received each part was wrapped completely in plastic. An assembly manual is provided, and the bench/chair is easy to assemble. No tools are required for assembly. All parts are held in place with spring loaded buttons. The height of the bench is adjustable to fit over the tub side. Each leg of the bench has soft rubber foot that won’t scratch the tub. The plastic seat has drainage ports for water drainage. The shower curtain placement will take a little practice to catch all the water. I would recommend the tub transfer and bath seat to anyone that needs a stable seat in the bathtub.

We loved the fact that you can set this up for either a right or left side transfer. We have a wheelchair bound parent with a leg amputation, so you need to be able to have the grab arm on the appropriate side for a safe transfer. It is sturdy and stable during transfers. It is also easy to clean and seems to be holding up well with showering soaps and shampoos. This chair is light enough weight that it can be moved out of the way easily for those of us who do not need the tub/shower chair. It is so easy to assemble, I could see it easily being used after a knee or hip surgery and then dismantled and stored until another need arose. You can use it over a tub, in a shower stall with a tray, or walk-in shower enclosure because it has adjustable legs. This is also helpful if you have a taller or shorter person who needs to use it.

It absolutely was helpful to have the bench. It was also very safe. The person using it broke his foot and just had surgery and he was able to sit and take a shower without worrying about slipping and falling.
