Very NIce Light
I really like this light! It has a nice black matte finish and frosted globe. It uses a medium base 60W bulb with B-shape/size (since the opening to the globe is not very big).
It only took us a 1/2 hour to install (probably because we had just installed a similar one inside and had a better idea how to do it the second time). The one-page instructions had a picture of the lamp with each part marked (however, we ended up using the instructions from the inside lamp to assist us).
We removed the shade and globe to make it easy to hold it up while working. Before connecting the wires to the house, you will want to put it in place, set how far down you want it to hang and make sure the canopy can be secured in place when finished (otherwise, if you have to turn the screw collar or tube to raise or lower after it's connected, it could twist the wires with the chain making them too tight). The chain links weren't difficult to open, we used a screwdriver and a pair pliers to separate (use a cloth to keep from scratching the finish).
Our outside ceiling is wood, which had the original bracket attached directly to it. We weaved the wires from the lamp through the chain, ring, canopy, collar and threaded tube and attached the new bracket in the opposite direction (see picture). Note: The live wire is the one with writing on it which goes to the black from the house. The other wire (with no writing) goes to the white and ground wire to green screw.
We were only able to use 2 of the chain links, but it can hang almost 4 feet.
I would recommend this to anyone that likes this style light. It gives a nice glow at night.
