Q:Does back material look same as front side?
        by|Nov 22, 2023
        1 Answer
        Answer This Question

A:  Hi Kirsten, Thanks for your inquiry. The Mica + (blackout) fabric is crafted with three layers, including an aluminum layer in the middle, giving it a distinctive metallic luster. While the front side showcases the main pattern and design, the back side of the panel features a white backing that also carries a subtle metallic sheen. If you have any more questions or if there's anything else you'd like to know, feel free to contact us. Best, GoDear Design

          Love these blinds!
The installation instructions were intimidating. However after reading through plus watching the video my husband and I had no installation problems. The teeny screws that hold the bottom cover in place were a bit tricky because they are so small but it worked fine. Another nice thing is when we want to replace the blinds, as the hardware is all in place, we just need to replace the velcro blinds, which would be a simple project. If you decide to add a valance, be sure to get the extra deep brackets so it does not interfere with the blinds.

            Beautiful and easy to install
I've never installed blinds before but I was able to do this on my own in a couple of hours. I used two sets as makeshift closet doors for a wide closet, and I love the result!

Just put up, very easy install and good directions. Good low cost alternative to frenzy doors or even wood accordion doors.

Very good shades for sliding doors
Overall product is pretty good from appearance and usage perspective. Only concern is in the picture it was showing head rail as bronze color but in reality it came in silver color. And the shades material durability would have been a little better. It may not last long. Installation screws that go into wall could have been little longer. I used two inch one’s. The one came with the package are one inch and it barely makes into stud.

Very nice shades much better than standard blinds.
Easy to install took less than an hour for install. I was very cautious about trimming the panels so that took a bit of time. you may need some help depending on how long you extended the sleeves.looks great. We recieved so many compliments on the look of these shades.

Not super impressed with the "blackout" function.
These blinds were not difficult to install. There quality of the material is good. I don't like that I spent almost $200 on something that said "blackout" for it to not be blackout. I get that light will come in at the sides and the top, however, light filters through the panels themselves. If you're looking for blackout, these are not the blinds for you. The photo was taken at approximately 8:30 am on a cloudy day and at time when the sun was on the other side of my house.

Looks nothing like pictures on HD site.
Opened the end with the panels. After just seeing the panels...returning this item. This product doesn't look anything like the picture on the HD site. I purchased the Godear Design Airo + 99.99% Blackout which appears to be a light grey color in the home depot site They are actually white with black threads and some shinny silver threads. UGLY..... Since I didn't look at the rest of the product I cannot really comment on the quality.

                    Feedback to JDW's Review
Hi there, Please see the attached photos and feel free to contact us if there is any missing hardware. We would send them to you accordingly. The screws marked with red rectangle are for mounting the brackets on the wall and those marked with blue rectangle are for connecting the L-brackets and mounting brackets. We are sorry that the provided hardware parts are not so suitable for installing the sliding panels on drywall. We would suggest you to try the ceiling mount solution in this situation. Otherwise you might have to look for construction screws or other drywall anchors. We appreciate your feedback and would continue to look for ways to improve. Best regards, GoDear Design Team

                      Meh
These are a ceiling mount for us and are flush against the wall and ceiling. The panels cover a sliding glass door, so the track is extended out to its maximum length. Installation was fairly easy, straight forward, and required two people. As others have said, the panels catch at the points where the track extends out, so they do not slide smoothly along the track. It's beginning to be annoying since you have to fuss and finesse to open and close them. We frequently must push the clips holding the track to the ceiling back into place because they do not firmly lock into place. This also contributes to the panels catching along the track since it can get out of alignment. The track is gray and not as pictured, so it doesn't blend well into a white ceiling. The panels are attached to the top rails with Velcro. The paper panels tend to ripple at the top edge where it connects to the rails, so the look is more casual and unfinished. The panels are more light blocking rather than blackout because the panels do not sit flat against each other when closed, so light still gets in between the gaps. The panel that sits on the outer track is about 2 inches from the wall, so it also lets in light and offers little insulation properties from heat or cold. Cleaning is problematic since the panels are highly textured paper. A light hand with a feather-type duster is about all they can withstand – a vacuum's suction would probably be too strong. The paper panels are not fused securely to the light blocking backing and are beginning to look ratty after a few weeks use. The best tip we can give is hang the panels in place, then cut them to length as they hang. Attach the bottom rail and check for length. It's better to cut them too long because you can always remove the bottom rail and trim a little off if needed. Despite what it looks like in our picture, these do hang right to the floor. We have a 3-panel track system of another brand that works great and looks as good as it did when we got it 6 years ago. We're doubtful these will last as long. Considering the price, we're unimpressed.
