          Gorilla Wood Filler
I recently ordered and received 1 tube of white Gorilla wood filler (it was supposed to be a 6-Pack). I have used many wood filler products over the years, and I can say that this product worked as well or better than most. what I really liked about the product was the consistency right out of the tube. It is very stiff and easily worked with. I actually used this product for a unique project. I molded a new "Gorilla wooden" handle on an old pocketknife that the original handle had fallen off of. It seems to have worked very well as I was able to mold it and sand it to match the other side of the knife (see pic). The product is holding up well as I have been carrying my pocketknife for several weeks now and the molded handle has not shrunk or cracked. regarding household repairs, I would recommend this product to anyone.

Great Wood Filler for Stripped Screws!
I selected the Gorilla Wood Filler to help me repair my pet gates. I have two, 3 panel folding Wood gates that I use to keep my dogs in a particular area of the house or from accessing the stairs. The gates get moved around quite a bit and the wood screws were stripped on a few of the hinges. I could not go with a longer screw, so I used the Gorilla Filler to fill the stripped holes. I like the texture of the Gorilla product because it is thick, but chalky, so it is easy to work with and spread without it sticking to my fingers. I filled each hole, let it cure and re-installed the screws on the hinges. This worked very well! The extra resistance held the screws in place. I am glad that the Gorilla Wood Filler has prolonged the life of my treasured wood gates!

Impossible to squeeze out of the tube.
I am very disappointed with the Gorilla Wood Filler Tube in Walnut. I have a live edge cedar table that has several areas where the wood has flaws in the surface. I was hoping the wood filler would fill these spots and give me a smooth finish. The problem I encountered was getting the filler out of the tube. I made a large enough cut in the nozzle, but no amount of pressure wood force the filler out. I thought if I warmed the tube, that would soften it up. I put the tube in a cup of hot water and let it for 15 minutes. That helped, but not much. Finally, I put it in my bench vise and managed to squeeze out enough to fill a small area. The filler was hard to spread because it was so dry (probably the reason it wouldn't squeeze out). I smoothed it with a bit of water which helped a bit. Unfortunately, when it dried it was nowhere near the color of the cap (walnut), It was just a sort of grayish light brown. I have used Gorilla products for years and have never been disappointed until now. Perhaps this particular tube is just a fluke.

          Not smooth as advertised
Very gritty, doesn't spread nicely. Doesn't stick well to wood. must be worked to get it to stay in place. Makes a rough finish. Nearly ruined sons pine wood derby car. Try Elmer's works much better

            Very convenient
This is a convenient wood filler that is easy to use for DIY wood repairs. The tube type container is very convenient and the 6 oz. size is perfect for me as a homeowner. We have a carpenter bee hole in our front door so i decided to use this wood filler to plug it. It was a little difficult to get the material out at first but with a good squeeze it worked. Instructions ask that you wait at least 1 hour before sanding.

Difficult to get out of the tube and gritty.
First, let me say, I love the Gorilla products. So, I was eager to try this one out. Being in a convenient squeeze tube, which was easily resealed with a screw cap, it looked like the perfect thing for small jobs. I had two immediate jobs. One was to fill an area just outside a shower and the other was to fill some screw holes for a new strike plate in a doorframe. I decided on the strike plate to start since it would be a good test. I first kneaded the tube to make sure nothing had settled or separated and that process went well with the contents seeming to be very soft and workable. Then, I opened the tube by cutting the end off. When I tried to squeeze the wood filler out of the tube, it was very difficult to get out. I have used wood filler on tables I have made and it was much more pliable. This stuff was pretty much like an almost dry, sandy, dough that came out only when I used both hands to squeeze the tube. I had expected it to be more paste-like, similar to their other wood fillers. As I tried to push it into the screw holes, it seemed to dry almost right away. I wound up not using my tools, but, my fingers to get it into the holes. When I tried to smooth it, it became gritty and sandy (When dry it rubbed off on my fingers as well). Having said that, after it dried, it did hold the screws for the strike plate, but I wound up not using it to fill in the void above the plate. All in all, it was not a good experience and I am glad I hadn’t used it on the shower trim. I may try it again on another project, but, I might just cut the tube open (rather than the spout), use what I need and toss the rest. I have used the Gorilla natural wood filler that comes in the plastic tubs and it was great stuff.

Convenient package and good color match
Great product for filling holes in dark wood. Resealable package makes it ready for the next job. I would like to see the consistency of the filler a little more pliable. It took more effort to squeeze out of the package than I expected but once flowing it was fine. It dries quickly and easy cleanup with a damp paper towel. I would recommend this to my friends.

            White Wood Filler by Gorilla
This white wood filler putty by Gorilla is in a plastic squeeze tube. The putty is thick and a little difficult to squeeze out of the tube, but the filler is easy to work with. It spreads easily, and dries hard. It is easy to sand. It is porous enough that it will take paint well. I got this to fill some blemishes and nail holes on white painted trim. It works very well for my purpose.

WORKS GREAT BUT HARD TO GET AT
I am always doing something around my house, or my daughters, and am always looking for a new product to make my life easier. When I saw the Gorilla Wood Filler, I had to try it. The brand is everywhere and covers a lot of products. I liked the idea of getting a wood filler in a tube because larger containers, like tubs, get dry after several months. I also like the idea of a white wood filler since all of my trim is white. The tube says easy to spread, paintable, and shrink resistant and that is true. The only reason I gave four stars is because the stuff is extremely difficult to get out of the tube. I cut the spout opening about half way down to get a decent amount out. Trouble is that the product is dry. I squeezed the tube and it felt soft but it comes out like it's dry. I feel that I will try the product again but buy something other than this tube. The product works great...just too hard to get going.

Easy to Use, Easy to Clean Up, No Shrink/High Performance Wood Filler
Gorilla sells water based wood fillers that are easy to use, don't shrink, and are easy to clean up. They sell their High Performance Wood Filler in 6 oz. squeeze tubes and 16 oz. tubs. I got a 6 oz. tube of the Golden Oak Color #112125. The cap color is pretty close to the actual color. I'm also going to get a tube of the Natural Color. I recommend getting at least a couple of colors close to what you think you'll need. Sapwood is often darker in pine and matches the Golden Oak more closely, where Natural matches the blond wood. White matches the 40 feet of melamine shelving boards I have in my garage awaiting the next project. The advantage of water based wood filler is that it is really easy to use. Use a small spatula or even your finger to fill small holes. Wait about an hour and sand it flat. This is perfect for filling holes from my 16 and 18 gauge nailers. I also tried it on a pine board that the grain had chattered/ripped out around a knot when I ran it through my surface planer. The Golden Oak Color matched the darker veins nicely. The disadvantage of water based wood filler is that it takes 2-6 hours to dry if filling a deep hole. I use catalyzed (2 part) automotive body filler (polyester & wood flour) when doing major repairs to wood that will be painted and solvent based wood filler for mid-sized repairs that will be stained. Unlike water based filler, you just can't wash your hands and spatula in the sink after using those. 5 stars for an easy to use, "Gorilla" strong wood filler.
