For people who've used this with paint, how wide was the spray pattern and was it even? Ours streamed heaver top and bottom when closer to the object or with reduce pressure. We had to turn up the pressure and move back several feet (more overspray). to keep from getting lines of excess paint. Would it help to thin it?

The spray pattern is about 4 inches. The first number of the tip means spray size and second two numbers are the orifice (which means how much paint comes out, the lower the number the less paint and better atomization come out). Ex) 209 tip. 2x2=4. Always double the first number to get the estimated spray pattern. And for the tails, yes thinning down the product to whatever the recommended percent. Gradually turn up the pressure until you get a nice pattern with feathered edges while spraying at the lowest pressure you can. You should be no more than 12 inches away from the area your spraying.
