AnswerI would make sure the sponge is "washed" first and even then, I would test it in something to make sure nothing comes off the sponge that would stay in the water (particles, residue).

This sponge is handy to have around the house. It is great at quickly cleaning up spills, cleaning the car and leaving the counters looking great. It also works well for cleaning our stone baking sheets that can’t be washed with heavy abrasive soap.
