Product Details

PP-SPAG-series window guard units, are pre-hinged with a latching bracket for swing away or stationary installations and can be used in conjunction with the optional remote release unit for designated egress windows. The Grisham window guards adjust to fit most window widths and are constructed of solid and tubular steel, with horizontal bars spaced 3 ½ in. in. apart. All units include tamper resistant installation screws and window stops for enhanced safety. Four bar unit available in black, non-toxic, rust resistant, powder coat finish. Width adjusts from 22-3/4 in. to 42-1/2 in. fully extended.

Q:What is the size of the hole for the latch or I should say place for the lock in order to get a quick release lock?

    Q:Can this be used for security purposes against theft? It seems as if the bars can swing in, somebody from the outside could easily enter. If I can remove that feature, will I need additional parts?

    A:  Jeff, The swing design window guard is for egress in the event of an emergecy. The AWG unit does not swing and is stationary.           I like this gate
          Installed in the basement window for security purpose only. I like this because it can open up in case of a fire.The metal is sturdy enough to slow the burglar down. I purchased regular screws to install it so I can always take them with me when I move out. The screws are hidden behind the metal so the burglar cannot unscrew them. The price is good compare to hiring someone to install a real gate. I had to buy 2 spray cans which is additional money which the gate didn't offer in white.
