Q:Description says 2 gallon but it clearly says 1.6 gallon on the actual unit.

Answer This Question

A:  If you are looking for the Hulk eMax 1 hp, 2 gallon tank ... don't purchase from Home Depot. You will receive exactly as pictured, a 1.6 gallon tank that does not meet the specifications of Home Depot nor Hulk eMax brochure they have a linked.

Q:What is the actual volume in decibels (not dBA)? There are different numbers throughout this page. The image says 36 dBA; the description says 51 dBA; and the spex link says 37 dBA at 3 feet. Which is it?

I used this to install 3/4 inch solid oak floor. Worked very nicely. Its charge time from a drained tank to 115 psi was about 2 minutes. Then, while working, the unit would recharge periodically taking about 10-15 seconds to refill. It was not an annoying interruption at all. Output pressure regulator worked well, and allowed to keep 75 psi that was required by 18 gauge nail gun I was using. While charging the unit is very quiet. That was my main reason for buying it over the other units. Even my cat got used to the compressor, although, as you can see from the photo, she's still a bit leery of the unit. If you don't have an air hose and connectors, you will need to get them as they are not included. Quietness and lightweight is the key. If you want higher pressure like for doing frame work, probably best to get a large unit. But for flooring this is great.

    Broken on second day
Similar to another review on internet. On the second day and 5 minutes after using this product. It fills up to 120PSI shuts off and does not kick back on at 90PSI it runs my tool down to 0PSI and does not start again until it is shut off for 5 minutes at least

      Air compressor (Hulk 1hp/2 gal)
I had a very loud compressor from another brand, this compressor is great for using inside as it is very quite just as advertised. It is a pleasure to use

      Less than 2 months. Broken!
Less than two months and this machine has broke, it has a burning smell, and now only works for approximately 20 minutes, and shuts off. Honestly, I have barely used it

Works extremely well for my applications. Fills pretty quickly and is well built. It is closer to 60 db (3 feet from the compressor).

This is one great little, super quiet compressor. It's light enough, to be easily portable and powerful enough, to get the job done. That said; be realistic, this compressor has it's limits. Don't expect to power your entire arsenal, of pneumatic tools; with this compressor.

It is bright orange and has a silly name. That aside, it is one impressive piece of machinery. It is compact, has reasonable weight, and plenty of capacity to run even framing nailers. Oh yes, and it is quiet. "Silent" is a bit of an exaggeration, but not by much. If you have ever used a P-C pancake screamer you will appreciate this one. It sounds like it is running somewhere outside when you are standing next to it. This is done by using two large bore cylinders mounted on an induction motor with vibration absorbing rubber feet at low rpm and moderate pressure. Even the air filter is specially designed to reduce noise. It is a very pleasant machine to work with. One downside is that the pressure is marginal. Compressors are noisier as they pump to higher pressures, so this one pumps from about 95-115 psi, unlike some screamers that go up to 150 psi or more. This hasn't been a problem yet, but sometimes I use 100+ psi to sink framing nails in harder woods. It would be nice if the compressor turned on at a higher pressure.
