Read the instructions before assuming
While in Home Depot we read the instruction manual prior to purchase. The 1lb tank that you can purchase will freeze over after 20min and will shut off. That’s because of the amount of propane being expelled is more than that little tank can handle. SO, USE A BIG PROPANE TANK. The unit comes with a long hose attachment for a big tank. We put the heater on a table and fed the line underneath the table to the large tank. It ran on high for 5+ hours. No issues and good amount of heat! Love this!

Very Deceptive Advertising
So upon reading about this heater in the description and specs, what kind of propane tank do you think it uses? A 1lb tank right? This is correct. However, what they fail to mention anywhere in the description is that it can only run for a few minutes on one of those tanks because the tank will freeze over. They reccomend you buy an adapter hose and use a 20lb tank instead. Which if you do, effectively transforms this from a small, portable tabletop heater into a rather large and not easily moved appliance. Like I said, very deceptive

We love the Bronze Tabletop. It's our 2nd one. Keeps us very toasty at night, watching the moon and stars on our porch patio. We have had the first one 2 years, and the added one 2 months. only for a small space
Love the size and the portabliy but just dosent hsve the BTUs to heat a deck over 8x8. Tested it out tonight for the first time. Makes a 10 degree differance. Likey returning only because my deck is 30/30 and unless your directly under it it not much help

It's a great product. Robust, small, portable and produces enough heat for 2-3 people. If you are in a colder place, you will need a bigger heater. But if you are in California and/ or have a patio where lighting bigger heater can be a risk or illegal, this one is perfect for you.

For an 11K BTU heater, this does a good job. Don't mess with the camping gas cylinders—they freeze over before even being empty, and they don't last very long. Instead, get a 1lb to 20lb propane tank adapter hose, and use a full-size propane tank. HD sells a 4ft adapter hose in store. If you need a longer one, a very popular online shopping site sells a 12ft version. There is a hole in the bottom of the heater large enough to feed the adapter hose through. Place it over an unused umbrella hole in a patio table and run the hose under the table, for an even cleaner installation. Glad I bought this; it's a great alternative to a full size floor-standing version. Using an adapter hose and a 20lb tank removes all the drawbacks of this product.

The reason for my "no" recommendation is that when I removed the heater from the box, the wire from the igniter to the pilot light "spark" gap was disconnected. If someone without my knowledge of such things had put it together per the instructions, it would not have worked as designed, and would have to be lighted with a flame. Most people would have had to return it for repair, whereas I was able to spot the problem and reconnect the wire.
After putting it together and using it, I am very pleased with the overall performance. I am going to add a bulk gas adapter and use a 15 pound propane cylinder connected by a hose because the smaller, 1 pound bottles only last a couple of hours at max setting. While the 1 pound bottles are okay for use, adding the bulk gas adapter and tank will reduce the cost of propane by more than half compared to the smaller, 1 pound bottles. The 15 pound bottles are readily available for "swap" at my local Wal-Mart, so that's what I plan to do.
