Rusted in 6 months
Great looking when brand new. After just one summer they covered in rust stains. If your register collects sweat it will rust. I have them through the house and all of them having this issue

This Hampton Bay 4 in. x 12 in. Contemporary Floor Register in Brushed Nickel is large than I was expecting, I measured my floor register so I expected it to fit. Wanted to replace the 21 yr old white 12" floor register but this is 13 1/4" long. It is to big to fit in the existing hole that my register sits in. This has larger vent holes for 1 way maximum air flow than a regular 2 way air flow register. Gave 4 stars because size is 13 1/4" not 12"

NOT ALL REGISTERS ARE MADE THE SAME... pretty much sums up the praise I have for this Hampton Bay floor vent register. I have seen many of this style vent and especially in homes that suffer more wear and tear, they just don't hold up because they ding, dent and the plastic fins that allow the air flow to be regulated breaks. This Hampton Bay register is built tough with a sturdier construction and better quality material -it's construction is all metal, no plastic! It's air regulation operation is easy and smooth and the register finish looks great and is easily cleaned! This is the only floor vent register of this style that I recommend.

my wife wanted some new floor registers, this one looked good so we got it. it arrived in five days, well packed in perfect condition. it looks great, a very nice finish and very heavy gauge metal. this one weights twice as much as the existing ones i have and looks a whole lot better. the damper has a smooth action and opens and closes fully. we love it.

Hampton Bay has done it again with another wonderful strong, durable and beautiful product with this 4 inches X 12 inches floor register in brushed nickel. It is very well made and looks great in replacing any floor register you might have. This one is going into my den where I have hardwoods. So simple to install, just remove your old register and insert this one.
It makes the floors looks much nicer and so simple to do. Hamp

This Hampton Bay floor vent in brushed nickel adds class and good looks to any decor. I replaced an old rusty one and the difference is amazing.. The fit and finish is excellent. The air flow is adjustable with a sturdy simple flush mount lever. I plan on replacing all our vent covers with these. The installation is easy and requires no tools. Be sure to measure the vent opening for proper fit.

Even the inside was metal and riveted to top , unlike other stores similar style at 5$ less were plastic insides and popped off when a little pressure was applied to turn vents. Well worth the money difference
