I installed the 3/8 mocha in two rooms and the 1/2 mocha in one room. In all three rooms, the brown color probably has 6-8 different shades, which for me, gives the floor character. Samples represent one very small area of how a wood floor is going to look when finished.

Can this floor be glued and nailed down?

It could probably be glued, but why would you? The advantage to this type of flooring is that it can be layed much faster by just clicking it together. I would not use nails. The tongue is not designed for it.

I have installed a lot of this flooring. You usually need to apply even pressure at both ends of the board and wiggle it a little as you start at 45 degrees and push the board in and down. If the joints are tight it will always lay flat. Sometimes a gentle tap with a hammer is necessary. I always use a small offcut that fits in the edge clicking mechanism and tap that, so that you don't damage the edge of the board.

What certifications does Heritage mill have for this specific floor?

All Heritage Mill wood floors are CARB Phase II and TSCA Title VI compliant for formaldehyde emissions. They also care FloorScore certification for overall indoor air quality, which tests for formaldehyde and approximately 35 additional VOC's.

I still remember clearly that our contractor highly recommended or almost "insisted" that we use "three-in-one" underlayment, and we purchased it at HomeDepot , too. Hope this info is helpful to you.

Installed easily and mix of cuts and appearance provided the natural wood look we wanted for our floor. Easy to cut and edges were straight and true. I've had other laminate flooring before that was warped and extremely difficult to install but this, even being a wood product, had no warped pieces.

Great flooring. We have had ours installed for about 1 1/2 years now. It still looks great. If you love the random coloring of Hickory, then you will love this. It clicks together well. We have it installed on the main stairs of our house and it still looks as good as new, so this stuff seems to hold up really well to traffic. At $3.50 per square foot, I'd say this is a really good value compared to other similar products. I'm actually ordering some more to do a different area of the house now!

I contacted Heritage Mills directly about our wood floor, it immediately cracked and our floor has damage all over it and throughout the house. If a drop of water falls on it, it separates the wood, I have never seen anything like it and we live in super dry Colorado, they tell you in their warranty not to stain or seal it that it already is so that is what we listened to and we use the exact specific floor cleaner- but the flooring is completely damaged. Heritage Mills never got back to us when we told them what had happened only weeks after our installation, I contacted Home Depot they said the warranty would be with Heritage Mills and in the end neither party helped... I am very disappointed, we were looking at beautiful Hickory floor at a local wood floor company that we saw in a friends house that has no cracking problems but they did not have enough of it to fill our entire house. I really wish they would have, because we will not in the future be purchasing flooring from Home Depot ever again.

I was pretty concerned about my order while waiting for delivery. I saw thicker, more expensive products out there and wondered if I made a mistake. I am writing to say I am very happy with the material. It looks wonderful. My floors have only been in for a couple weeks so I do not know about durability yet. But, they look great. Also, I smelled no "off-gassing". One of the points about this material is that it is made in US.

Very nice and well-made product, easy to install. This flooring is more expensive than others due to the greater thickness of the veneer. Although the photo indicate the boards are all the same consistent shade, our boards were various shades (some boards were much darker than other). To ensure a proper blend, we laid out five rolls at a time to ensure we didn't have too many of like boards next to each other before we installed those five rolls. Because we installed this flooring over concrete slab, we used a 3mm felt top underlayment with a built a vapor barrier. This gives the floor a softer feeling when walking on it. You could get away with using only a 2mm underlayment and still get that softness.

We chose the Hickory due to hardness and the natural variety of tones. The floor looks beautiful and with proper care, should last for many years. This was installed in a bedroom with little foot traffic. I can't speak to the durability of this flooring in a hallway or living room with heavy traffic. As expected, perhaps 10% of the boards had damage that made them unusable. Having previously installed Bruce Hickory engineered flooring, I expected some damaged boards. We ordered an extra box to account for damage and cuts to get the look we wanted. The click floating flooring is rather easy to install and is the perfect way to cover asbestos tiles. When sawing the door jams to place the flooring underneath be sure to keep your fingers away from the unforgiving saw blade...speaking from experience, unfortunately. This flooring was a good investment.

Once it was installed it looked good but there were a LOT of boards that were chipped on the edges or cracked. For the price I think the quality should have been better.

I'm very impressed with the quality of this product. Each board fit together and locked in place. A short learning curve and before you know it you have a beautiful floor. The only thing I would warn against is that the web program recommended more then needed. I returned two boxes.
