About This Product

The Hessaire 5,300 CFM Evaporative Cooler is compact in size, pleasing in aesthetics and the performance exceeds coolers of a much larger size. This performance is achieved through expanding air-intake areas to the hi-density XeL50 rigid media. These coolers have 3 media panels instead of a single panel found on most mobile coolers. 3-panels allow more air-intake area and reduce pre-rotation of the air to the prop, which translates into lower static pressure and more efficient air delivery to the prop. The hi-density XeL50 media provides 80% more evaporation surface compared to regular density media. This means higher evaporation efficiency and cooler temperatures. Note: This unit is not an air conditioner and therefore uses much less energy and saves more on electricity costs. It is best used in dry climates or open spaces. Leave window/door open to limit the rise of humidity and keep better air ventilation in the room.

  • High-density media provides 80% more evaporation surface compared to normal density media
  • Direct connect to hose feature to enable constant water supply option to bypass having to fill water tank
  • Ideal for use in outdoor areas, not designed for use in totally enclosed spaces
  • Molded with a polypropylene resin, creating a strong, yet lightweight design

    Answer This Question

A:  No. You can manually fill the tank through the front fill door, by hose or bucket. Use the water fill indicator to monitor water level.

    by|Feb 15, 2024

A:  No. You can manually fill the tank & get about 3-4hr run time before it needs to be refilled. Or, you can connect the hose for uninterrupted, continuous use. There are also 2 fan-only settings (low & high), which don’t need water.

Pros and Cons to consider before buying
Pros- *Reasonably priced unit for the size. *Cools down really well. * maneuvers easily * not to loud on low mode *. Cons- * No attaced gfci, not a good idea for a water based unit, internals not properly sealed to prevent water from getting onto switch board or swing motor . * pads seem a little thin although it does cool efficiently *if unit doesnt sit perfectly level it will favor one side on the drip and overflow into the fan and spray water. * fan seems a little off balance when spinning. Overview- although more cons than pros I would recommend strictly for the price not on quality. I also would recommend putting a filter on the water post to prevent salt or calcium build up on the pads whice loses cooling power over time when this occurs

It was great as far as cooling the air but unfortunately it stsrted leaking from the reservoir 2 weeks after I purchased it. I returned it. I also found it was a bit too strong for my porch. Will get the 900sq ft one next summer.

Works Great on Hot Dry Days!
These things work great on hot dry days on your patio. For example today in Texas it is 110 F and the relative humidity is pretty low (27 %). I measured the inlet and outlet temps on different speeds and it consistently dropped the temp 20-24 deg, entering was 110 F entering and 87 F leaving. The fan is pretty powerful as well. Be aware that these units will not do very well on humid days.

                      Not what I was expecting.
Like most of y’all we are having record temps and looking for options to survive. This unit running on cool faucet water cools air about 3-4 degrees alone below the outside air temp. I thought I would use ice and make it better and it did. Temperature drop was 10-12 degrees running on ice water. But it goes back to room temp rather quickly as in less than an hour. So overall it moves a lot of air like advertised but not the answer I was looking for to keep cool.

                        Great product.
Completely satisfying. A little bit expensive, but it meets my demands.

                          It lasted 2 weeks.
Bought on July 1, made it untill July 18, used lightly and pump is not working already. I can't recomend junk like this. It has nice features but 2 weeks of service before it needs repair is pathetic.

                            Huge Temperature Change!
I placed this in my man cave (garage) and experienced incredible results. This cooler dropped my garage temps by 30° (see pics). Easy to assemble and works very well. I needed to adjust the routing of the pump hose in the tank as it was assembled with a kink in the hose. Once I figured out the problem, the cooling media gets nice and wet. The fan motor has great CFM. It's quiet and very smooth in operation. I connected mine directly to my house hose bib for worry free operation, works great!

I was raised with a water AC so I didn’t expert it to compete with refrigerator AC. I use it to cool my barn. 1200 sq feet. I read up on them and it performed just like it said. When humidity is over 60% it just feels like a fan. Yesterday and today the humidity was in lower 40% area. Today when it was 110 degrees outside, my barn is 94. Got to love Texas weather.
