There is nothing built into this fixture restricting you from using a dimmer switch. Problems with dimming typically arise from the bulb you choose, not the fixture. This light actually includes a dimmable incandescent Edison style light bulb. I bought two of these lights and found that the (free) bulbs were slightly warped, but they still worked.

It’s the right size which was hard to find in a fixture I “REALLY liked”. I’ve also replaced all of the ceiling fans w/ light kit fixture in every room and screened porch... thanks to Home Depot! :)

They look great both indoor and outdoor. The bronze finish is very nice and sleek I love the glass cover because you can switch out the bulb to something different.
