Assembly is simply screwing the top onto the base. Base is super heavy cast iron and the top is heavy and rustic. The table top has variations in color and texture-it is not perfectly smooth more like some waves to the top. Overall it looks exactly like the picture.

Yes there is some problems with this table, but it's a real looker. First the machanical part of the table is not tight unless you go to the hightest level, which is where it looks it's best, if you don't it will be shakey. Also the four screws that hold or connect the top of the table are small, I did add four larger screws. Saying all that I love the looks of this table, size was perfect, wood is beautiful and the industrial look has never been better. I would buy again.

The table looks just as pictured. It is very heavy, but easy to assemble (the base and top are shipped separately). The top has a very distressed look to it, which includes a worn off paint look, which could be modified with different paint colors, if you’re so inclined.
