I have 3 of these fans on my patio. When the fans are on oscillate there is a physical bumping sound when they reverse oscillating direction. Has anyone else experienced this and is their a means of resolving? Thanks, AL
Asked by: alitt
Yes, I have installed my second fan because the oscillating piece with the ball bearings came apart on my first fan. The second fan ran for a month and the same thing happened again. I think it is a design flaw. Sad because it is a nice looking fan and great concept, but too much money for it not too work.

How big of an area will one fan cover? Will it work for a 10x16 porch?

Asked by: Kr
Yes. I used 2 to cover that big of an area. My porch is open not enclosed. If it is enclosed 1 will work fine.

Can two fans be wired to the one wall switch?

Asked by: TbonePickens
Just installed 2 of these fans in my front porch using one controller. Oscillates fine, but when I put the speed to slow and medium, it just spins just fast enough to cause a small breeze. I get better air movement when somebody walk by!! But when I put it on high, it runs great. Either I did something wrong, or one of the replies listed is incorrect that 2 fans can be operated from just 1 controller.

It's adds some color bling to the ceiling. I love the way is ocsillates rather than spin. This design provides more air circulation without blowing things around. The thing I'm having trouble with is getting my fan to oscillate. The old ceiling fan's wiring doesn't exactly match wiring on this fan so an option is to run a wire under the ceiling inside molding to wall mount switch because putting it up in the ceiling would be quite costly. So I thought maybe a remote could work and did for a while then stopped. I don't know if a remote is an option, but don't see why not if it worked once, it should work. I haven't been able to clarify this with a knowledgable electrician yet. If I have to run the wire across ceiling I will, but a remote would be more aesthetically pleasing. Hoping to find a definitive answer and the electrician that will install the proper fixture. DebY

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Sounds like a great fan but isn’t I bought my 2 fans from Home Depot about a year and s half ago. Really cool fans....stainless steel and osculating. Now the osculating part doesn’t work. The good news is it’s covered under warranty, the bad news is u gotta take both down, pay for shipping, and ship to California. It’s a long way from ALABAMA to Cali. Who knows how much it would cost to mail or how long it would take I wish we had gotten s regular ceiling fan

Home Depot should either get the vendor to address the FALL & POP SOUND, or find a replacement for this fan. Little did I imagine that the POP sound would be so much an irritant - especially for those INSIDE the house - the fan is on our patio. After years of many reviews complaining about the defects in the oscillation mechanism, Home Depot has had ample opportunity to address this issue, thereby protecting its reputation and protecting its customers. Why don’t I return it? I paid an installer to put it up and would have to pay to remove it. It will remain, looking good - but only running without oscillation, which is a big disappointment. Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ehhh, not for me. I installed it, and took it right back down. Will be returning tomorrow. It looks AMAZING. Very nice. I installed on a very small back porch. The oscillating feature meant you felt none of the air unless you moved with the fan. If you kept it in the center, you could only feel it right under the fan. Did not keep air moving over my entire SMALL porch. Porch is 8x5. Also, it comes with its own switch. I was installing the switch into a triple switch box which already existed. The switch is white and the others I have had are beige, so it stuck out like a sore thumb. If your previous ceiling fan had separate switches for fan and light, you will be left with one non-functioning switch because the provided switch uses all of the old wires and combines then into one switch (one for fan and one for oscillator). In the right setting, this would be an amazing fan, but did not work for my application. I actually think it would work better in an enclosed space vs a 1/4 open outdoor area.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Beautiful but desired more oscillating options The fan is beautiful. The power is significant. We have it on our porch at our cabin on an angled ceiling. The oscillating degree does not go as we anticipated. We position it and mounted in the corners to push out bugs and smoke because we also grill under the porch. We turned off the ocelating. Hooked the wire frame to the ceiling in a permanent position. We wish the fan would oscillate side to side and outward ....that's what we thought it was going to do. So our "rigging" is working out. We purchased two for each corner of the porch. The ceiling was too low for a fan in the middle. So these are perfect. It's a log cabin and the fan style is what the look needed.. We had to return one of the fans because it didn't complete the 45 degree on one side. The oscillating motion stuck and clicking occurred. New fan worked fine. I believe the instructions should be more clear. It would be certainly nice if the fan could go to back-and-forth and side to side.

Bought it specially for the oscillation feature which worked fine for one day. The next day it began to clunk at the apex of each swing. Looks like the gears are slipping when it begins to reverse direction. Taking it back to HD for an exchange in the hopes I just got a defected one. Based on some of the other reviews however, it happens to other people so I may just be wasting my time. I'll post another review after I swap it out.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good fan, but beware the red wire Take warning from some of the other reviewers on the install of this fan. I've installed 8 ceiling fans in the last few years and most of them are pretty standard. I saw the review that said you needed the red wire from the light switch to the ceiling box. I have never seen that in any previous installs so decided upon a standard fan from my back patio. So, I took down the old fan, and low and behold, a red wire was there. I'd never seen that before. So, back to home depot for the Bentley. Install was pretty straight forward, though the wires in my existing light switch didnt quite match up to the instructions. I threw caution to wind and it worked out fine. Its a nice fan for our patio in Houston. Most standard ceiling fans dont even come close to throwing off enough air in the hot TX summers. This does a pretty decent job. I would recommend, but take down your existing fan first, check the switch and make sure you have the red wire before you buy this fan. Good luck

Purchased 2, Electrican came and had to re-WIRE both outlets, Needs 3 wire for connection of Fan and Oscillation, After spending more on the electrician, both fans make noises when oscillating. I do not recommend this product . TOO NOISEY on oscillating and on HIGH to loud.. Mine are already installed, and can't afford to take down and return.
