The way they have used colors to make this handsome and very adaptable to any table theme. The functional aspect that came to mind as I imagined my grandson chasing his peas over the plate with a spoon, he will find this plate very helpful with the way the edge is designed and the peas giving up quickly. The set is very stout. The plate will hold a lot of food if you want to load it up. And the salad plate is large. The bowl is deep and wide. I can just imagine a big piece of pie heaped with ice cream served in this bowl, sometimes. Followed with a big cup of coffee in the large deep cup with a two finger handle. So many opportunities to enjoy this beautiful, well designed set. Dishwasher/Microwave safe. This will be used daily. I love this set.

This dish set is very pretty and adds a hint of sophistication to dinner. The modern, high edges of the plates make it easier to pick up food and the large size holds a lot of food or allows smaller portions of food to be separated nicely, as per my picky grandkids' rules (ie. chicken, potatoes, veggies).They are sturdy and quite heavy. (For an older person or child, the large plates might be difficult to carry as they are heavy!) The small plate, bowl, and mug are very nice and feel good to eat or drink from. A note about the durability... make sure you don't let these dishes hit other objects because they can chip if hit hard enough. The last picture shows a small plate that my grandson let hit a large bowl in the sink.

It is sure to elicit positive comments from all guests. I like that these dishes are porcelain, thus making them microwave and dishwasher safe. The Shadow Gray color blends well with other table setting and is adaptable to any color scheme. The swirl pattern gives a countryside look as well as a modern look, depending on the other settings on the table. These dishes are a bit unique in that the rims of the salad and dinner plates are raised, which does eliminate most spills. All of this dishes and cups are a good weight and have a solid feel. Great for any home !

My current dinnerware set is more than 30 years old so I thought it was time to finally update it and get something a little more modern and this Home Decorator Chastain set fits the bill ! This service for 4 is a very pale gray with a swirl design on the plates (see picture) and it easily can be used for everyday or dressed up with coordinating napkins and silver. The porcelain is nice quality and the plates and bowls are substantial - the dinner plate is 10.5 inches and the salad plate is 8 inches in diameter. The bowls are also a decent size- 5.75 inches in diameter but they are not very deep, only about 2.5 inches. The coffee mugs are a medium size and measure about 4 inches which is a nice size for tea but if you like a big cup of coffee you may want to use a different mug. This set includes 4 dinner plates, 4 salad plates, 4 bowls and 4 mugs. This dinnerware set is made in China and has a 180 day return warranty. It is labeled as dishwasher and microwave safe but I really avoid placing porcelain in the microwave, even if it is labeled as safe, I am too afraid it will get overheated and break. Since this set is not part of collection if you break a piece or two there is no way to purchase an individual piece so if you really like the set I would advise buying an extra set. They are very reasonably priced - right now less than $40.00 so it may be worth the extra cost just to have an extra set on hand. Another item you may want to consider when purchasing this set is since this is not a collection you will not find extra serving pieces like serving plate, serving bowls. gravy boats, etc.. Overall, the Home Decorator Chastain is a really nice dinnerware set and is a very nice quality for the price. The set has a modern design and the neutral gray and white tones match perfectly with almost all white, blue and gray decors. I am very pleased with this set and plan to buy another set to make a service for 8.

Nice starter set. The high gloss makes it easy to clean. One of the odd things about this set is all the pattern or color is on the inside of the dishes. The outside is pure white. For example the coffee or tea mug is white on the outside the gray swirl pattern is on the inside only. Kind of makes sense for the flat dishes as you typically never see The bottom of them. However the bowl and coffee mug you typically see the outside more often then the inside. Just something odd about the set. Still a good set that works well

Beautiful swirl pattern highlighting the grey color. It reminds me of collectible dishes made over 75 years. The lip on the two plates is a big deal if you have children or serve saucy dishes. These plates are also bigger than many sets but feel normal and will still fit easily in dishwashers. The mug and bowl are also a little larger than other sets. The mug has a nice thin side wall making it enjoyable to drink from like a fine china. The dishes overall are nice but do have small flaws in the finish and edges, most of which your guests likely won't notice when enjoying a meal.

Just wow. My wife loves these Home Decorators dishes. They look great with the grey swirl pattern. The dishes are heavy and well made. Very smooth and no bumps. The lipped edges are great for keeping food on the plate and with the flat surface they hold more food. Even the mugs are a good size for morning coffee. Your guest will be very impressed and they should last a very long time. We highly recommend this set of dishes.

Love this dinnerware set! They are fairly light weight but made well. I prefer plates that have a rim around the outer perimeter so the food does not slide off. They have a high quality look and feel, and work great for everyday use or formal dining. The coffee mugs have a comfortable handle and are easy to hold. All pieces are microwave and dishwasher safe. From the dishwasher, they come out spotless and looking like new. If you’re looking for a nice dinnerware set that can be used daily, or even in a more formal setting, these are wonderful.
