Q:Can?t his be laid directly over ceramic tile ?

Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your question. Yes, the Horizontal Toast can be laid over ceramic tile. The subfloor must still meet all requirements and the ceramic tile must be in good condition. Any grout lines greater than 1/4'' should be filled.

    Answer This Question

    A:  Thank you for your question. The Horizontal Toast is not intended to be refinished or recoated. Doing so will result in your floor no longer being under warranty. However, if you wish to recoat your floor despite the warranty, this may be possible. Although the veneer of the floor is not ideal for refinishing, it may be possible to recoat your floor to regain some of it's original aesthetic. Please give us a call at 877-630-1800 so we can discuss your options.

      Q:The manufacturer recommends a 6mm polyethylene underlayment for moisture, but that doesn't do anything for sound. All the 2 in 1 underlayments I have seen are only 3mm thick though. Can you use a 3mm underlayment if the manufacturer recommends 6mm?

      A:  Home Depot stocks a product that is a combination moisture and sound barrier.  The name escapes me, but I’m sure Home Depot will know.  I used this as underlayment over my wood subfloor.  It also met Code requirements.

        A:  Thank you for your question. If you have a concrete subfloor we recommend you use a 6 mil (1/1,000th of an inch) polyethylene film as a moisture barrier. We do not have a thickness requirement for sound control underlayment, although we do recommend you install something with relatively low compressibility. More compressible materials allow for more flexion on the joints, which can cause problem down the road.             Looks fantastic after a year
            This flooring is easy to install and is holding up very well. This is bamboo, so it's not hard. You can scratch it by dragging heavy furniture with protectors. The scratches are easily covered with a black Sharpie. But it's better to avoid them by using pads on all your furniture feet. Because it's black, it shows everything - hair, dust, etc. The floor is warm and suprisingly soft underfoot.

              I had this flooring for less than a year. It was installed properly. I have had no leaks or water damage and have kept our home under 50% humidity and yet this flooring had molded on the back side. SO GROSS! Now I have to replace my entire 29'x30' flooring.

                Could not be installed
                This product was delivered and was in my living room for 2 weeks to acclimate before being installed. When installers arrived so many of the planks were bowed that they couldn’t do the installation. Ultimately went with another product.

                  Purchased the Natural Woven on line deliver to store went very smoothly. The floor went down perfectly without any problems. There were no warped or damaged pieces in 22 cartons. Don't leave out the acclamation part !!! It looks awesome and I've got one happy wife (although that is normally fleeting !) I upgraded to the Home Legend due to the hardness rating which will hopefully be more paw resistant to our 2 golden retrievers.

                  DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. I expected that when a manufacture warrantees their product against "defects" and …… Home Depot offers a 90-day return policy …… that I was going to be receiving a quality product. I did not and if you read many of the other Customer Reviews offered here, I am not alone. This flooring is so soft (poorly manufactured) that when my 160-pound son sits in a chair (with protective leg caps), he leaves four permanent dents in the brand new floor. After the flooring was installed, I rolled the refrigerator forward to plug it back in, then rolled it back to discover two deep grooves had been permanently pressed into the brand new floor in front of it. Medium size dogs (50 to 60 pounds) running through leaving deep gouges. Not just scratches. Deep gouges. My kitchen has been sitting in limbo for over a month waiting for the manufacturer and Home Depot to do the right thing. They have refused. What was coming together nicely as a ”dream kitchen" has now become a major headache thanks to this defective, low quality flooring. Very disappointed
