I purchased this and 2 attachments. The engine side runs strong however once attached to the weed-eater attachment It doesn't preform very well. It seams to bind and bog down the engine while just free spinning the weed-eater. Fact is its a Honda the most expensive 35cc engine... It should spin the weed-eater attachment with ease yet it does not. The hedge trimmer attachment doesn't bog down the engine like the weed-eater attachment or Id have already returned these very expensive Honda products. Since I purchased this mainly for weed-eating I am disappointed and wouldn't be able to recommend the system.
I chose the 35 cc powerhead because I’m using the cultivator attachment and I felt more power the better. I also have the hedge trimmer and pruner attachments. It is heavy. You will definitely need to use the harness. It runs like a Honda engine always runs, top notch and quiet compared to 2 stroke engines. Does it’s job perfectly, but it is heavy. As other reviews have stated it does not ship with oil but no motors ever do. You can use SAE 30 or 10 W 30. Both oil choices are good for temperatures well above 100° but only the 10W-30 is good below 40°. So choose based on the air temperatures you are going to work in.

The 35cc version is powerful, starts easily and is relatively quiet. I’ve used the edger and trimmer attachments. Very quick to change heads. I buy Honda because their engines always start easily and are super reliable. Single pull to start every time as long as you prime it properly. I was surprised at the power of the edger using this Honda motor. The edger attachment looks lightweight but can edge with adequate power to dig, cut and clean tough areas to edge. No disappointments at all with this unit. Typical Honda engineering—fantastic!!!
I have been using this for a week, with the saw, extension and hedge trimmer. Runs like you would expect from a Honda, much quieter than the 2 stroke Echo pole saw I had been using Lots of power, and seems well thought out. Sure the multi piece system and 4 stroke engine is going to weigh a little more, but I found it very manageable, and I'm not 30, 40 or 50 any more. First project was a 30-35' high X 50', badly overgrown hedge. I Cut it down to about 10' and the saw and power head just sliced through 8-10" limbs. I followed up with the articulating hedge trimmer attachment. Loved every thing but the clean up, and man did I make a heap of debris in short order. Bottom line, if you are looking for a tool that you can add attachments to, I love this Honda 35 cc.
This is powerful and starts with ease. The noise level is quieter when compared to a 2 stroke equivalent. The spline shaft drive should give years of reliable service. One of the cons is the oil dipstick not showing low & full marks on it letting you guess where it should be. The 35cc power head is heavy weighing in at 13.2 pounds so it is not well balanced when using attachments. I bought this with the edger attachment which works well also.
