Why is it 4 3/8 thick???
Does not fit in my filter slot that is 4 1/8. Smaller print on the box shows actual size as 4 3/8 thick. Don’t get why they don’t just make it actual dimensions and that is the only one that is larger than the stated size. Can’t smash it in without crushing it. I’m guessing my furnace is just an odd size but seems strange that it would have a slot that thick that is a 1/4 inch too small

Watch out for this product. The wrapper says FPR 8 filters bacteria, pollen,mold/spores, fungus, smoke dust particles, pet dander. The inside filter says Merv 8, large particles, dusting aids, airborne dust mite debris, mold spores.

Just OK for MERV8 Filters
Right size filter for system, fit is good. My only complaint/FYI is website lists it as the FPR 8 though image further down under [Product Overview] shows it is FPR 9; really wish HD would stick with industry standard MERV rating to do better comparison so you know what the filter is rated for. I would agree with the Honeywell rating that the filters are MERV 8 which I missed as I try to get something in the double-digit MERV level due to allergies. The fact that current Honeywell filters with MERV 8 (see Honeywell's site) do not list ability to collect items like smoke particles yet the Home Depot listing for FPR 8 calls out smoke collection is confusing and (in my opinion) misleading. I will use them up but will not order again.

I bought these filters because it is stated that they will fit my Aprilaire 2210 Whole House Air ...
I bought these filters because it is stated that they will fit my Aprilaire 2210 Whole House Air Purifier and they are half the cost of Aprilaire 213 filters. They do not. The filter will slide in the enclosure all the way but the cardboard has to be cut and removed at the top left and top right of the filter so that the retaining clamps on the 2210 filter enclosure door can fit inside the enclosure, sealing the unit.
In my opinion, these filters are not nearly as effective as the Aprilaire 213 filters, which are of a much higher quality and create a much better seal within the enclosure. I'm going back to the Aprilaire filters, even though the cost is twice as much as these Honeywell filters.

I've been using an air filter in the intake plenum of my furnace for many years. When I compared a filter from my most recent purchase of a filter 2-pack with the previous Honeywell filter, it seemed to me that the build quality of the filter has decreased a bit. The cardboard box on the new filter is bent in a few places, the tangs that helps keep the filter material in folds were not in place, the folds were irregularly spaced in a couple of places, and the arrangement of the filter in the box was a bit sloppy. Both the old and new filters were made in Mexico.
Honeywell's packaging states that the filter's airflow performance "lasts up to 12 months."

This is false advertising, as it is MERV 8 not FPR 8. FPR is Home Depots own non-standard filter...
This is false advertising, as it is MERV 8 not FPR 8. FPR is Home Depots own non-standard filter standard. These are fine as MERV 8 filters, but it is false advertising to label them as FPR 8, when they are FPR 5.
The Home depot packaging says FPR 8. The Filter itself is labeled MERV 8, which is more likely to be accurate. The Filter also says "Filters LARGE particles"
If Home Depot is going to make up their own "standard" at least it should be consistent.
