Had this happen to me. My old white wire was attached to the "W" terminal so I wired this one up the same. Finally had to call a heat pump guy and even he had to call a friend because he thought it appeared to be wired up correctly also. Finally figured out the white wire had to hooked up to the W2 terminal. This fixed the problem. Hope this helps.

Is there a switch to completely turn the furnace off and not just switch from heat to cool?

The thermostat won’t shut off the air once the temperature is reached.

Danielle, I was having the same problem with my thermostat when I installed it. What i found is that i believe there is a 2 degree difference between the temperature settings on the thermostat. In my case when I wanted to set my thermostat to 72 degrees, I found when then inside temperature reached 72 degrees the ac continued to run. But if i set my thermostat to 74 degrees when the inside temperature reached 74 degrees the ac would shut off as it was supposed to. So try setting your thermostat up by 2 degrees and see if that solves your problem

The large number on display screen is the actual room temperature the small number above that is your temperature setting example if your room temperature is 75° and you want your room to be 80° you need to press the plus button until that small number goes up to 80 degrees then the heat will come on approximately after a minute or before heat will come on but if you're setting is at 75 and your room temperature is at 75 degrees heat will not come on until room temperature go below 75 degrees then it will come on

Many 1 star reviews are inaccurate
I changed my thermostat and had air in about 20 minutes even though I dont know anything about HVAC. This thermostat is designed to work with many HVAC systems regardless of brand or components. 4 wire, 5 wire, 53.7 wire, doesnt matter. All the wires are color coded, you get lables for them, and the thermostat tells you exactly where they go. You dont even have to understand how to use a screwdriver because they have clamps to secure them. However because of this there is a one time set up using and - to indicate 6 features of your system (ie how many compressor stages). Just google your make, model and compressor stages. Answer will be right there, you dont need a degree to figure this out. If you just guess the thermostat cant control your unit correctly. Thats your fault not the units. This is not that hard people just put a little effort into it.

The thermostat needs to be set 3-5 degrees hotter than what I want. Honeywell said they will send a replacement but they don't seem to be in a rush. Today it needs to be 3 degrees hotter and a few days from now it may need to be 5 degrees hotter.

Hi Joe, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us after working with our thermostat. We always appreciate hearing from our customers and use their experiences to improve our products and processes. If the agent you were working with ordered a replacement thermostat, it typically takes 7-10 business days for arrival after it has been processed. It could take longer due to the holidays. Feel free to give us a call at 1-800-468-1502 if you want to check on the status of your replacement, or have any additional questions or concerns. Thank you again and we hope you enjoy the rest of your day. Honeywell

Easy to install, easy to operate. Love the backlit display. Bought because it works with a wide age range of home HVAC systems. And, because I have had Honeywell thermostats for over 30 years with no problems
