          Affordable filters
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have these filters for my air purifier. They work very well. They are easy to install and they are very reasonably priced. Works well, but use proper water
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] In general, the humidifier works well. I think it’s especially useful when I go skiing and stay in places with very dry air. In these cases, the humidifier makes a huge difference, and I definitely feel more comfortable with it in my room. I like that the model doesn’t require filters, so it’s very convenient that I don’t need to worry about replacing them. I’m glad I read the instructions before using it because it mentioned the “Hard Water and White Dust” issue. Basically, if you fill it with hard water, all surfaces around the humidifier will be covered with white dust. That’s exactly what happened to me when I used tap water. At night, before going to sleep, I turned my humidifier on, and in the morning, I noticed white dust everywhere around it. Not just close to the humidifier, but even approximately 80 inches away from it and farther away. It was not very noticeable on brown furniture, but I could clearly see the white dust on a black tv that was approximately 70 inches away. And since I have a black humidifier, I could see the white dust all over it. It was easy to clean, so technically, it wasn’t a big deal, but next time I’ll keep the humidifier farther away from items and also use filtered water for it. I also think the white color of the humidifier would be a better choice since the white dust will not be as visible on its surface.

Very easy to cut and install
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These filters come with a template so that you can cut to exact size needed, depending on model you own. These filters can trap larger particles, like lint, and pet hair in some models of purifiers.. absorbs some common household gases and fumes from cleaning products, and deodorizes the air with carbon and zeolite. They only need to be replaced about every 3 months and can be ordered online. I am very pleased with the ease and convenience of this product.

No more taking the tank off to refill
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The best feature of this humidifier is that has a super large fill flap on TOP of the machine. You no longer need to take the tank off, drip water everywhere, unscrew the lid and refill the tank. You can just add water directly to the machine. Breakthrough! It also has an essential oil tray which is great. The mist output is great from this machine and has been a nice addition to my apartment in New York this cold winter.

                    Great filters
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These cut to size pre filters are great and can work on many different models of air purifiers. Depending on your air purifier size, this filter can be cut to make anywhere between 1-12 separate filters. There’s a chart on the back of the box to help you figure out how many you can make for each filter model. It comes with a template to cut them the correct size. These filters are great for deodorizing, capture lint and dust, and absorbing product fumes.

                      Simple Cut-to-Size Pre-Filters
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have the Honeywell HEPA Tower Air Purifier/Odor Reducer HPA030 series. It is recommended to replace the pre-filter every 3 months to keep your air clean and fresh. I find that the Honeywell Pre-Filters cut-to-size is very easy to use. It comes with a template. Simply cut template along the dotted line for the pre-filter size needed. Place template on top of pre-filter and cut pre-filter to size. Depending on the type of unit you have, you get between 1 to 12 filters. I find this to be economical. I recommend the Honeywell Pre-Filters cut-to-size.

                        A Great Little Humidifier
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently got the Honeywell HUL585B Cool Mist Humidifier for our bedroom, to help combat winter’s dry air in our Central PA home. Here are my findings so far. The Honeywell offers a sleek, modern look in unassuming black gloss housing. The footprint is reasonable with 10.2 (L) x 10.2 (W) x 16.1 inches (H). OOB you get the humidifier, a cleaning brush (housed in the humidifier’s base), the cord, and instructions. Filling and operation is simple. First use, give the tank and components a quick rinse. Wipe down the base (don’t submerge it) with a clean, lint free cloth. Place the base on a sturdy, level location. Insert the floater (which simply sits in the base… Honeywell provides an outline in the base to indicate where the floater sits – make sure the floater sits exactly where it should or you will have a mess on your hands… or, more accurately, the floor). This isn’t a design flaw, per se. The process is super simple and straightforward. Use good sense, you’ll be okay. Connect the plug. Make sure the control knob is in the off position. If desired, push the essential oil tray (located to the left of the control knob on the base) in to release it. The tray pops out. Add a few drops of your favorite, quality essential oil to the tray/padding. Put the tray back in with a simple, but somewhat firm push, until it locks in place. Fill the tank. Now, unlike some tanks that are bottom-fill only… this tank is top-fill only. Lift the tank lid, either fill the tank while it’s on the base or grab the tank by the indicated internal built-in handle to lift the tank and take it to a sink, etc. I have mixed feelings about this approach. Filling the tank at the base is easy enough. And, while it’s nice to have that option (vs. always having to drag the tank to the sink or bathtub, I traditionally filled my humidifier tanks using a sink/bathtub, as I’ve always had bottom-fill-only humidifiers. So, to the sink I went. The lid’s wide mouth makes it relatively easy to maneuver the tank under even relatively low-clearance sink faucets, which is nice. But, when you completely fill the tank (and if you use the built-in internal handle, which you really need to do to easily set the tank back in the base) your knuckles are hitting water. Not really sure there’s any way around this. If honeywell built a handle into the housing itself, there’s a good chance that someone would tilt the housing and spill water due to the non-locking lid. So, either fill the tank with less water, or dry your knuckles on whatever’s most convenient. C’est la vie. The wide lid mouth does make a quick wipedown of the internal tank very easy. With the tank on the base, turn on the humidifier. I added lavender to the essential oil tray. Even on the lowest setting the mist was apparent and the lavender oil was noticeable. Noise produced was relatively quiet even at the highest setting, which produced a plume of mist. Control is easy… a smooth-action rotating knob lets you control the amount of mist produced. At all control positions, the mist was noticeable. For my part, I set the knob back to the lowest setting and am currently letting the unit do its thing. A few other notes. The honeywell offers a bi-directional mist port. So, you can point the mist in two directions at the same time. The ports rotate easily. Per honeywell, the tank holds 1.25 gallons. On the lowest setting the unit should produce mist for about 36 hours. When the tank runs dry, due to the gray floater dropping, the unit will shut off automatically. This particular unit is designed to humidify a 400 sq ft room and uses up to 24 watts. The power cord length is 72”. Keeping a humidifier clean is crucial. If the humidifier isn’t clean, you and/or your loved ones breathe in the contaminants. Cleaning the HUL585B is relatively easy. Honeywell lets you remove the gray floater, the tank from the base, the tank lid cover, the essential oil tray, and the bi-directional mist port (the latter of which is important as, from experience, moisture gets trapped under the port). Included directions indicate how to clean the device. Follow the instructions to ensure you get the best device experience but also check all components for any beginning signs of red sludge/mold/hard water scale. If any of these appear, you’re not disinfecting/descaling the device often enough or thorough enough. Of note, the Honeywell is not antimicrobial on its own. The manufacturer recommends the separate purchase of an antimicrobial ball. In my experience, they work. However, they are not an alternative to disinfecting/where needed, descaling your humidifier. And, it’s just as easy (and more effective) to regularly clean your humidifier using the proper steps. Also note that there is no Relative Humidity (RH) readout (LED or otherwise) on the device to indicate your room’s RH levels. Moreover, there is no built-in humidistat (which measures the room’s RH levels) to turn off the device automatically when your desired humidity is reached. Per the Mayo Clinic, ideal RH levels are 30%-50%. Lower than 30%, the room is too dry, which can lead to a number of discomforts (itching, sore throat, chapped lips, coughing, wheezing, etc.). Any higher, the room is likely too damp, which can lead to your body not being able to regulate its internal temperature through evaporation… fungus, mold, and dust mites. The proper RH is crucial. With the HUL585B, you'll manually have to monitor room RH. Finally, per the manufacturer's site, the HUL585B comes with a 3-year limited warranty. So, worth purchasing? Yes. Offering a top-fill only approach, tank filling and overall device cleaning/maintenance is relatively simple (as long as you follow the included instructions). You might need to prepare yourself for wet knuckle due to the integrated handle’s design. But, I think Honeywell had to balance that against users potentially spilling the tank if they used an external handle approach. Although the device offers an auto-shut off when the tank empties, I wish it had an RH indicator/auto shut off, but that’s not a necessity. Overall, the Honeywell HUL585B is easy to use and effective at adding humidity (and scent, if using a high quality essential oil in the included oil tray) back into your home (especially during dry winter months) – all in a sleek, modern, compact design. With an up to 36-hr runtime, the HUL585B will have no problem making your up-to-400 sq. ft. room a more comfortable environment. Based on actual use, following the instructions… including the recommended maintenance schedule and approach… I think the Honeywell HUL585B Cool Mist Humidifier offers a solid 4-star performance and is definitely worth considering.

                          Works Great!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Honeywell Cool Mist Humidifier works great and operates nearly completely silent. This model operates manually without any sensors to measure humidity and automatically adjust the output. You simply twist the knob to turn it on and set its output intensity. While lacking automation, it does work very well and starts producing cold mist in seconds. One thing I have noticed about the cold mist, though, is that the vapor droplets are large enough that it fools my bedroom HEPA filter into thinking there are airborne containments present, causing it to majorly ramp up in speed after the humidifier is turned on. If you have a similar air sensing HEPA filter, you'll likely need to manually set the fan speed if you use this humidifier in the same room.

                            Fresh and Crisp!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love the Honeywell Cool Mist Humidifier. It runs so quietly that you may think it wasn’t running until you look and see the mist coming out of the top. The air in the room becomes noticeable fresh and crisp when the humidifier is in use. I never realized the air in my space could be better until I used the Honeywell Cool Mist Humidifier. It also helped to cool down the space. I really like that it has a designated area to use essential oils if you would like a particular scent to fill the room. This is a Awesome Product and I would definitely recommend it to others.
