Questions & Answers

How long do you have to wait after you spray for it to be safe for pets and people to sleep and be in the room

Asked by: KJ
Wait until it dries. I would give it 4 hours. Don't spray on areas your pets will lay down on. Just spray on seams and corners.

A tenant had vacated and left behind a bedbug infestation that I discovered as I was painting the bedroom. I used the HotShot Bed Bug Killer with Egg Kill in hopes that I did not have the "pyrethroid resistant strain" of bedbugs. HotShot is a pyrethroid insecticide. The builtin electric sprayer was very handy! Two weeks after spraying an area heavily with the product, I was removing the drapery hardware and found a community of 10 bedbugs that appeared dormant. This was an area I had treated a few weeks ago. I breathed on them and they came to life, attracted by the heat and carbon dioxide in my breath. As they moved toward me, I captured them with a strip of painter's tape. I have local pest control coming in this week and hae ordered a non-pyrethroid bedbug killer online from a supply house. Hopefully, that will take care of the problem.
