It worked with modification
After success with past clogs in this particular bowl for the past 13 years, I finally faced an unplungeable toilet clog in the kids bathroom. Off to HD I went, and purchased this toilet auger. As someone else’s review stated, the head was too big to snake down to the actual clog. I ended up having to use a couple of heavy duty pliers and bending the head off completely (messy brown pita). Once I did that I was able to snake the wire down to the clog and successfully cleared clog.

Crap quality snake head needs to be shorter.
When trying to snake my toilet the plastic housing around the snake broke in 2 places. The "heavy duty" spring bent withing the first 2 minutes of use which made it super hard to use once it was bent. The head of the snake needs to be half the size in length to fit in the trap way easier. Not worth $15.

Thankful!
I was tempted to spend more on the more expensive and am glad I didn’t. I am very thankful I didn’t have to call a plumber. I almost gave up but the third time was a charm as finally a toothbrush came out! Pretty sure compliments of my toddler. Worked like a charm as soon as I got it out. This thing is a keeper!

Worked great but my only once. My particular clog was heavy and I did have to twist the auger harder than it could handle but it worked well for me!

Worked once then broken
I used this auger for a clogged toilet, and had a very difficult time feeding it into the toilet to begin with. Then when I caught my "fish" (well, it was a My Little Pony) and pulled it out, the coil was completely gnarled and deformed. I tried using in on another toilet that recently started plugging up and the plastic broke apart in the pipes. Now I need to get another auger to fish out the old auger. Verdict, if you have kids at home, invest in a sturdier model.

The Husky 3 ft. Toilet Auger is a great alternative to a regular toilet plunger. I admit I have a hard time using a toilet plunger and they never seem to work. I needed to pick one of these up when I couldn't get the toilet to clear and within 30 seconds of getting home with this, the toilet was clear and ready to use again. This is much easier to use then a professional 25 ft auger and takes up less room. I would definitely recommend this for someone who clogs a toilet alot.

You get what u pay for
I have bought 2 of these over time as i have 4 kids who mess up the toilets with paper and wipes. And let me tell you... Dont buy this ...it might last you one fix...then bends or breaks. Buy the Ridgid one...it has lasted me now over 2 years and good as new.
The other one Will break believe me. The ridgid is 4x more money...but when it saves you $100 each time who cares.

I bought this auger earlier today at a nearby home depot. When i stick it down the toilet within less than 5 minutes of reeling, the handle came off. Theres a ring thats holding the handle broke off. But it did the job done. Save me almost a hundred bucks for a $10 tool. Hope i can get a replacement for this auger for future usage. Thanks Husky

Good for most homeowners. If you are a commercial user or use it 3-10+ times a year, get the heavy duty one from another manufacture. If you use it a couple times a year at most, get this one. For 1/5th the price of the commercial grade one, it comes with lifetime warranty. I'm glad HD is making their own auger. I'm sure it's the same manufacture makes it, but by labeling it Husky, it comes with a lifetime warranty. Just bring it back to HD. I had the other brand one and got this for light use. I also have another one that is extremely heavy duty. It's also about 5x heavier than this and can extend to 6 feet if you need it. For most, it will be a paper towel, a sock, etc. This can get the job done most of the time. I wish the end of it was made of rubber since it'd absorb the shock. By having a plastic head, it can crack off. Again, it is Husky so it is lifetime.
