Q:Will it score a ceramic tile?
by|Sep 29, 2021

Answer This Question

A:  I don't know. It is a glass cutter that scores glass. Is a ceramic Tile Glass? They make a Tile saw which cuts ceramic tile, so I would hazard a guess that it will not.

A:  No. This is for cutting real, nontempered, window glass. Acrylic, plexiglass, lexan, etc. are cut with a saw.

    ABSOLUTE GARBAGE
Tried it on multiple glass panels of different thickness, ruining ALL of them in the process... Clearly in the picture you can see a deep score line and where it decided to break off... 0 Stars if I could. This was also the thinnest peice at 2/32...

Was a little nervous cutting a large 3x8 mirror, but this tool worked as a charm, paying for itself in a single job. Not sure of long-term durability. I would guess the carbide would eventually chip off, especially if you press too hard.

This is a good glass cutter for the price. I bought this to cut glass inserts in single pane glass for picture frames and cabinet doors. I've had this for about a year now and have used it on quite a few occasions. It scores the glass well and glides easily. When using a straight edge it was difficult at times to keep the cutter head on track because small changes in the angle with which the cutter is held changes where the score line is. With some practice it gets easier to use consistently and accurately. I usually score the glass at least twice before breaking it along the score line. Once wasn't enough on single pane glass to get a good even break. I have not used oil with this cutter so I'm not sure how that might impact the scoring. I would probably get this item again because it is so cheap and easy to replace.

Bought even after reading reviews. I can confirm it doesn’t cut well at all. I got one bottle done and it was finished. It doesn’t come with oil but I used some as it indicates in other packages of same cutter. Save your money. Looking for a good bottle cutter look on line. There is also no way other than your pressure on it to keep a straight line

Old fashion cutter, actually an etcher, did the job at a reasonable price.
