Q:will this work on washing machine
by|Mar 17, 2023

Answer This Question

A:  that is dependent upon the width of the washing machine adjustment. This wrench can be reduced to as low as 1" so an adjustable wrench or a smaller plumbers wrench might be more suitable for the job.

Q:All the parts below my sink (P trap) are metal will this wrench grasp, hold and move the metal 'bolt'?

      Answer This Question

A:  You should. You can't move the sink connection. You will need a wider wrench.

A:  I used mine on PVC pipes and it works good. I believe if the metals are not rusted, as long as there are groves on the parts, this wrench grasp should be able to grab the parts.

A:  I have it, and it was ok. However, the edge that you must catch under there is so narrow that I felt that the more simple, double sized, fixed one might have been better.

A:  Are you wanting to use it on the three metal nuts on the p-trap? (I only see two of them.) For those, I think the wrench you've chosen will work. It's certainly the right size. I usually use channel lock pliers for those nuts, sometimes with tape over the gripping edges to eliminate damage to the nuts. The wrench you've chosen won't work on the sink basket nut because that is much larger. Sometimes when we try to remove the p-trap nuts, we'll loosen the basket nut accidentally. I that case you might try this wrench: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-Universal-Sink-Drain-Wrench-410-074-0111/311493704 It is sturdy and grabbed a laundry tub sink nut really well for me. https://images.homedepot-static.com/productImages/a059d403-daaa-4649-b8e7-72f39a060106/svn/husky-fitting-removal-tools-410-074-0111-64_1000.jpg

A:  I did not know there where a metal "bolt"on a P-trap under the sink. However with that said, it will work on any "nut" on the P-trap or strainer under the sink. The wrench I have goes from a tight 7/8 inch to 2 9/16 inches open all the way.

This Husky Adjustable Plumbers Wrench is one of those tools that as a regular joe homeowner would never think of owning until the day it's the one tool you can't do without. Adjustable to accommodate for a myriad of plumbing slip nut sizes (mouth/jaw can be adjusted from 1 to 3 inches) and accomplish a laborious plumbing task that may arise in an emergency. Nice addition to a tool box because in reality, not everything can be fixed using duct tape. Solid, sturdy, grip handle can be engineered somewhat better but all in all, it's an excellent tool for a diy'er.

Nice additional to the wrench tools I have. The correct plumbers wrench that I was looking for. I am a DIYer and perform minor plumbing jobs around the house and these adjustable plumbers wrench was actually what I was looking for. At first the shape of the wrench throws you off but after one or two uses, you get used to it. I own craftmans tolls and this wrench seems better in quality. There is minimum movement in the wrench when you use it after a couple of twist.

Jaws do not open to 3 inches, it only opens to 2 15/16", I purchased it to use on a 3" toilet tank discharge nut.
