Answer This Question
A:Â Yes.

A:Â We have only tested it for sealing airlines not plumbing. it may work but we can't say that it definitely will.

A:Â Yes. Plumbers tape - Teflon tape - PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) tape all seal pipe threads.
Husky PTFE can be used "on NPT (national pipe thread) connections" as stated in the product overview online.
It is "thicker and denser, allows for better sealing and easier use."
Husky thread sealant tape works well on air lines, which is how I first discovered it. Work perfectly on 3/4" water lines and many DIY projects since.. Tape is thicker and a bit less stretchy than similar tapes but performs very well. Now a few rolls stay in my DIY plumbers tool bag.

Nice thicker pipe thread sealant tape. Package states for air compressor set up. Use on all male NPT connections to prevent air leaks. Not for use with fuel lines. Connected new air line to quick disconnects and resealing some other air fittings. Tape performed well, easy to apply on smaller and sealed well. Seems thicker and to have less stretch than other pipe thread sealant tapes. Didn't slip much while wrapping or thin out and fray when pulling to break. Easy to use. Female part started and threaded on easily and once snugged didn't leak air. Satisfied with quality and performance. Performed well on 3/4 inch pipe thread for outside water shutoff too. Seems like plenty on roll so is also a good value.

Great thread tape. This thread tape is thicker and wider that what I've used in the past. The tape is very strong. I tried to tear it by pulling it apart along the length and it was very difficult. The tape doesn't have much stretch if any allowing you to get a tight wrap around the threads. Of course pulled apart by width I was able to stretch it similar to other thread tapes. I would recommended this thread tape, it is described as for use with air but it will likely work in water applications.

The Husky thread sealant tape is shown by Home Depot to be a PFTE tape. This means the tape is not stretched during the manufacturing process; thus, it is less porous with higher density. Less tape has to be used as in just a few wraps. PFTE = for use with steam, water, and other liquids (except fuel). However, the actual packaging does not say PFTE. The tape can also be used for air lines (compressor air hoses, air tools) to prevent leaks. If your compressor hisses at connections, use this so it will not keep turning on and off to pump up to pressure. You are using less tape for an effective seal. . I like it because I use less and I think it gives a better seal than regular Teflon tape. It is a good product and a step up from regular Teflon tape.

I am sure there any a lot of people out there like me who want their tools to last as long as possible. I have a pancake air compressor that I have owned for right around 20 years now. While it only gets light use, when I need it, I really need it. I've noticed lately that it appears to be losing pressure and power quicker than it use to. I've now went through are resealed all the connections I can get to and now it is back to running like it was new. This product is easy to handle and use and I would recommend it to anyone needing to stop air leaks.

You know, i'm not sure what i was expecting from this tape. Maybe i was thinking it would make me a professional plumber (that didn't happen), or maybe I was just hoping that it would sorta help me keep things together despite the unyielding pressures that some faceless, nameless bureaucrats are exuding on us. Turning it up when they feel like it, and we just have to sit there and take it with no say in the matter—no control at all. The only thing we as individuals can do to help ourselves is wrap our threads in teflon, tighten down our joints, and hope and pray that nothing leaks.
