Extrated the threads from broken shower arm
I rarely review products on here, but this one saved me from hiring a plumber and costly bill. Broke my shower arm off replacing it right at the threads; seems to be a common failure point. I got these along with some other options, and sure enough the included shower arm extractor worked a treat. Life saver.

NOT If you have a really stuck iron pipe
NOT If you have a really stuck iron pipe I had a tub spigot installed with Teflon tape and Teflon pipe dope ~20 years ago that was so stuck... The corroded section crumbled and I bashed in the regular 1/2" size and the shower arm extractor; both would spin with the required force. I borrowed both Walton and Rigid extractor and end up having success with the Rigid Brand. I needed to grind the broken section off of the extractor

Saved me from hiring a plumber
I tried the nipples extractors from Lowe’s. They ones from Lowe’s were not long enough, sitting flush with the shower tiles so I could not attach my wrench. This shower arm one from Home Depot did the trick though. It was just long enough that it stuck out of the tile enough to allow me to attach my wrench. It took the might of the Hulk to turn it, but I did it! Woohoo!

        Perfect for broken shower pipe
The shower pipe extractor is a little larger and longer than the 1/2” extractor as a 1/2” shower pipe is thinner than normal 1/2” pipe. It’s longer to provide more working room since the elbow is typically deeper in the wall. It took longer to open the package than it did to remove the broken pipe! Not sure about all the one star reviews, most of which said it didn’t work on a shower pipe. I just tapped it in with a hammer and with one turn of a crescent wrench it was out. If you have any difficulties, you might try putting it in at more of an angle or even wedging a small piece of metal in between the tool and the broken pipe. Can’t beat this for the price!

          Worked great for me!!!
My shower head pipe had broken off and I had to extract the bit of pipe that has snapped off in the fitting. The house is 30 years old and these are the original parts. I was concerned that maybe the piece was rusted in and I'd never get it out (as I had read in some other negative reviews). I proceeded gingerly trying not to apply too much force in case I twisted and damaged the supply line. My first attempt didn't work so I applied just a little more insertion force on my second try and, lo and behold, the piece came out in under one minute. Complete success. I'm very pleased with the product.

            It worked for me.
I had a broken 1/2 pvc nipple inside a bronze female end that is embedded in an autofill cylinder for my pond. At first I thought the sizes weren't going to work because one was too small to grip and the other too big to fit. However, I used a metal hammer to gently tap the bigger size tool into the orifice. Once the tool was straight in there, I used a socket wrench to remove the broken piece. It saved me hours of frustration in the Arizona summer heat. Also, it left the bronze pipe intact. I saw youtube videos of someone extracting the nipple with a chisel and that was to risky for me. I don't give it a 5 because I felt I had to juggle sizes. The shape of the tip should be longer and the cone allow for more variability in size. In other words... There should be overlap between the sizes. I hope it works for you too.

              Better Than Expected
I don’t normally write reviews but this extractor set was a life saver! I broke a 3/4” fitting off while working on the hydraulic system of my 1942 Ford tractor, leaving just the threaded section still in the spool valve body. I picked this set up along with a set of internal pipe wrenches to attempt extraction, fairly certain that neither would work with such an old and corroded piece. I hammered in the one that fit snuggly, gave it a crank with a 12” pipe wrench and, to my surprise, the extractor bit and the broken pipe started backing out. This saved an incredible amount of time and I highly recommend these!
