Q:Would like to use this for replacing boards on my deck will this work and I don't have a compressor is there a smaller portable one this would work well with?

Answer This Question

A:  You need a compressor for sure. It uses the compressor to strike the nail head very quickly with short strokes to smoothly drive a nail into the wood. That said, you can rent a compressor, buy a smaller pancake type (very inexpensive,) or just check the used equipment apps (CL, OU, etc.) and snag one. You'll be glad you did, they have a thousand uses. This tool is magical for working in tight spaces.

A:  This tool uses a hammering action to drive the nails. Yes, it will drive framing nails into your deck boards with no problem, but depending on how many boards youre replacing, using this as the primary tool may become tiresome compared to a nailer. Typically any compressor with a 6 gallon tank or larger will run this tool sufficiently. Let us know if you have any further questions! 1-888-669-5672

A:  Check all the info on the description page and the info you are asking about should be there. I do not do research for others, only for myself before I buy any products.

A:  It is covered under the Stetson Hat Co. Warranty. You will need to submit a claim to Sugar Pops Warranty Company. Somewhere, USA.

A:  Just about, I have used 16D's on old pressure treated wood. They go in easily, no bent nails, or wasting time.

A:  Standard nail heads from finishing nails to framing nails will fit. But roofing nails with the big "umbrella head" will not fit. And I wouldn't use it on roofing nails. I believe the description of the product indicates "any type of hand driven nail"; if the nail head fits in the driving head of the nailer..

A:  Common nail size. Not roofing nails

A:  You bet. Its made for nails with heads, and if you drive finish nails I doubt you can do it without marring the wood. But it's an amazing tool for tight spaces. Just be aware that when you first connect it to your compressor, it will sound like it's leaking air. That's normal, drive a nail and it will set the seal and you're off and running. Enjoy.

A:  6d - 16d Framing nails will fit the mini palm nailer. Larger head nails, such as roofing nails, will not work in the palm nailer.

Well I finally used this nailer. I had purchased it on sale and set it aside for a tight roofing job. I was able to attached 2 additional rows of shingles in a very tight spot than I could not reach by hand hammering. No roofing nails were bent to be undriveable. This nailer really saves on wear and tear. If you ever hand nailed a large project you know how tiring it is on the hand. One caveat it hurts the same on your thumb as any hammer! Be careful.

                        Un-believable tool!
Bought this tool to get into a lot of very tight spaces. Never owned or even tried one before. I was blown away at how good this thing is! We had to nail up some joist hangers on old wood. (Very hard stuff) The only time this palm nailer hesitated was when we got into a knot. Made very short work, of a cussed filled hand hammering job! What a tool! It will now be one of my favourites!

Very handy tool! I won't use it a lot, but when it's needed, especially in tight spots where I can't swing a hammer, it can't be beat. It drives nails quicker that I expected and is very easy to use.

                          Palm nailer
This nailer is great, except for one problem the magnet inside is not strong enough to hold the nail in place wihout falling out before you drive it. Had to use both hands sometimes to get the nail going. 🤪🤪
