Very nice, strong quality product
I had professionals install, so I cannot comment on the instructions. But, the product is nicely done, it added the usefulness of my deck by 100%. I would recommend this to anybody who is looking to add roof to their existing deck.

As many reviews have already stated the instructions for assembly on the patio were horrible. They rely on you to interpret and guess on several steps. Took about 3 weekends to install when in reality it should have only take 1. This company should be embarrassed for the information they put into this guide. Complete amateur work that a 5th grader could have made better. Obviously these people were not smarter than a 5th grader. Would not buy again.

Product arrived on time and damage free. Packed really good. Materials were of good quality. Fairly simple to assemble with two people. The gutter system is a plus, allows for maximum height at header. I plan on purchasing another for one of my rentals. It would be nice to attach the side panels somewhat better, but that's a design issue. Overall it provides a really nice cover from sun/rain within a day or two.

We love our patio cover. It seems very sturdy and gives the back of our house much needed shade. It gets so very hot in the sun here in southern AL plus it increased the value of your home. My husbands son and his friend put it up for us (in their early 20's). It did take them all day to put up. They said the instructions were not very good, they tried to call customer service and no one available to help so it took them longer. They did a really good job. This is such a great patio cover, I wish the company would supply better instructions. We have only had it a few weeks but it is holding up good to the rain storms we have had so far. It is delivered by a semi truck, so make sure your house has easy access to come down your street to deliver.

Master DIY required
The product in itself is not bad. Powder coated sturdy metal. As everyone else has stated, the directions are terrible. I have worked construction for 40 years. I have done more home projects than I care to remember and was going to build by own awning until the pandemic caused wood to soar.
If you have not experienced building your own products then do not buy this. You can not go by the instructions because they leave a lot of steps out. You have to have a lot of common sense in building to put this together.
That said, my wife and I built this in one weekend. And yes, somehow we are still married after completing this, although it was close at times. Please, get someone to build this for you if you do not have the experience.

Not suitable for Florida residents
I fell in love with this patio cover but unfortunately I found out that I was unable to get a permit for it since the company will not give you an NOA to preset to the building department and without that they will not issue one.

Due to Florida's high wind speed requirements, some kits will not be compliant with the Florida building code. The Contempra Patio Cover available through Home Depot will be compliant to Florida's building codes, and engineering can be provided.

It took about two afternoons for my wife and I to put this together. The longest part of it was simply trying to figure out the directions. As many others have said the directions are AWFUL. We ended up googling the cover and found different instructions online that were much more helpful, but still terrible. Once we managed to figure them out, putting the actual structure together was not difficult, just time consuming. I am a mechanic and my wife is a stay at home mom, and we were able to complete it in two days. No contractors are needed as some people seem to suggest.
