Product Details

Interbuild acacia solid hardwood countertops add a touch of warmth and drama to any kitchen. Acacia is tough, with a density comparable to Teak. Acacia countertops have random length and width slats that are finger-joined together in a unique rustic design. These surface features enhance appearance, providing a one-of-a-kind charm for every countertop panel. Acacia has very good wood-working properties and can be cut, shaped and drilled with standard wood-working tools. Under-mount sinks can be installed with acacia countertops since they are solid wood construction, and have no veneers or mdf cores. All Interbuild acacia countertops are FSC (Forestry Stewardship Council) certified as a sustainable resource. Panels are oiled at the factory with a proprietary plant-based hardwax wood oil, 100% free of VOCs, and do not include any peanut-based products, making them uniquely approved for contact with foodstuff. These countertops can also be used for island and table tops in kitchens, restaurants, cafes and bars, as well as desk tops and and even for outdoor applications!   • 74 in. L x 40 in. D x 1 in. T, with straight edge
  • Oiled with VOC free food-safe hardwax oil
  • No peanut products are used in the hardwax oil formula
  • Solid Acacia hardwood with rustic knotty wood grain design
  • Available in standard counter and island top sizes with lengths up to 120 in. and widths up to 40 in.
  • Other species available include Hevea, Karri, Senna and Teak
  • B/C grade: rustic tight knots on B side face; voids and other defects filled and sanded smooth on C face
  • Finger joined (FJ) slat construction, slats range in width 2 in. to 3 in. and in length 14 in. to 18 in.
  • Panel is not completely finished and, prior to installation, needs 2 additional coats, on all surfaces, of a clear natural wood oil, such as mineral oil or hardwax wood oil, to seal it against surface water damage and to prevent it from drying out due to changes in relative humidity

        A:  Hi Corn. Thank you for the question. I do know you can use polyurethane oil or water based on these panels. You can use this over the layer of Interbuild Hardwax oil. You must make sure that you seal it on every inch of this panel top, bottom and all 4 edges and into any cut you make.           Great island top, but ........
          Purchased the island top. Looks great, but good luck finding any matching counter tops, or response from interbuild email? I ordered the counter tops that should have matched - wrong. Drove to a home depo only to find they are wrong color as well. Something that was so promising has turned into a major headache

            love this!!
            We added a 6 foot island to our kitchen and all i wanted was the butcher block top. I couldnt find one wide enough for what i needed until this!! I was so happy and its perfect!!

              This is a really beautiful piece of wood. I purchased it as a counter top for my laundry, and then used 3 extra cuts for laundry shelving. I don’t have the patience for 3+ coats of the recommended wax, so I did some research and used Obie’s Oil, you only need one coat, and it goes on super smooth. This wood was easy to work with, it cut nicely, and the finished product looks amazing! I would definitely recommend!

                I purchased the island and a 6 ft piece. The pieces did not match. Totally different colors. Had I known this I would of bought plan color wood and polished myself. I assumed that the dusk grey would look equally the same and no extra work be needed. That was not the case. I now have to pay someone to sand it down and re stain it and hope it looks decent after that. Very disappointed and I would not recommend you buy this product. I contacted Home Depot in regards to this and of course they are no help and don’t seem to care.

                Hi Lynn. I am sorry to hear this has not been a good experience for you. We use 100% Acacia wood. This means it is a natural blend of colors. All our products are in a prefinished state and need to be sealed. You can seal it by adding extra color or by using a clear hardwax oil.                     Disappointing All Around
                    First off, understand that I does NOT appear as pictured, and I expected it to need some level of sanding/polying but the finish was streaky and many gaps/knots/checks were filled with an epoxy on both surfaces of the slab so there was no “good” side. It was a flat finish, very dark and looked more like a bla k primer than an ebony stain - nonstops character whatsoever. All four corners were dented. There was a large check on the end grain. The piece felt solid and didn’t have any apparent bows to it but I rejected it at the store before I had the chance to put a straight edge across the grain.
