About This Product

The popular FG Series of fiberglass poles by Jameson have been an industry standard for over 50 years. The high quality of these fiberglass poles makes them the preferred choice for telecommunication lineman, arborists and landscapers. These poles offer a strong yet lightweight solution without sacrificing control or bending strength. Extension poles are equipped with a male ferrule on one end and a female ferrule on the opposite end. Poles snap together with no tools. For highest performance and safety, Jameson recommends always using a base pole (sold separately.)

  • Each hollow core fiberglass pole measures 1.25 in. outside diameter with a wall thickness of 0.125 in. and weigh just over 2 lbs.
  • A polymer protective surface veil is utilized to prevent fiber blooming on the surface due to abrasion or ultraviolet light
  • End ferrules are constructed from aircraft grade aluminum and feature an exterior leaf spring locking button to give you a secure connection when attaching poles or tools
  • Poles are batch tested to 100 Kv/ft. for 5 minutes but are not intended for use as a hot stick

Answer This Question

A:  The fiberglass pole measures 1.25 inch diameter. The aluminum ferrule measures right at 1.26 inch inside diameter to work with our 1.25 inch poles.

A:  My poor trimmer has an outside diameter of 1 and 1/4 inches. This fits inside the large end of the extension poles.

A:  The aluminum ferrules are the same for all Jameson fiberglass poles. Different pole types will work with each other.

A:  When I got mine FG 18ft Jameson a few years back, I remember researching about combining FG and LS and remember reading either that it wasn't recommended or it won't work one is lighter than the other. I imagine they said that so uneven tension/weight is not place more on one (usually the weaker extension) over the others -- or you might have a problem on your hands. You certainly don't want a pruner breaking and coming down on you.

Have not used the extension yet, however; I have no reason to believe that they will be any different than the poles with the pruner.

Very good pole pruners. The wide mouth pruner makes cuts that a saw would usually be needed to make. It isn't overly heavy, but it isn't light. With the extensions I can do a lot of trimming that might otherwise require climbing a tree to do the same trimming. All in all, a good purchase.

                Too Long
Poles were good quality, a little better than ones that came with blade, but anything over 3 poles is to long for the strength of poles. The weight is high and the poles get real flimsy after 3 poles long. The saw is great, I cut 10" oaks with it, wasn't easy but it did it. The blade of saw is excellent just does not work good after 18' length.
