Can I use Item # 617-110 to cut glass smoothly
Asked by: Sam
I used this 7 in. diamond blade on my $99 wet saw and cut my glass backsplash tile and was extremely happy how clean of a cut I got. You probably already know this, but cutting glass tile like this it is very important to go easy with your cut and of course ease into each cut. I did 21 feet length of backslash and 15 inches high was the glass tile mesh. The tile I was cutting cost me over $1500 total so it was very important not to waste any tile. I got almost no chips with my cuts, the only chips I saw were small enough to still use and were my fault by not being careful. I included a picture to show the tile I was cutting. Easily cut around the outlets.

I'm not sure why there are so many negative reviews. I don't know if people were cutting dry, using a poor tile saw or were cutting too fast. I almost didn't buy it but the ratings for the Rigid $43 blade were not much better. I used this to cut MSI 12 x 24 porcelain tiles from HD on my Ryobi overhead tile saw for the floor as well as for baseboard. I could not have chips at the top of the baseboard. It cut clean and easily with no chips.

I was struggling with broken and chipped tiles. I finally braved my storage shed and found my wet saw. What a difference when I added this blade. This diamond blade was a true cut and I was able to finish the project.

Changing blades to this one made all the difference. Made the cuts much faster with less effort. The edges always were much smoother with less tear out.
