Intrigued by the classic old world style, this Capilano product line displays round spherical designs with product durability that Kohler stands behind. A template is included that removes all the guesswork for a worry free installation, but use a level to check the template for a perfect install, and mark where the holes will be, these being where the mounting brackets will be secured. Be sure to have the word "UP" facing you and upright when installing. This towel bar pairs well with any other polished chrome bathroom decor, and comes with a lifetime limited warranty.

The towel rack has a great look. It is polished chrome. It matches the Capilano accessories (for example, toilet paper holder). There is a template that is essential to tape to a wall for proper installation. The template must be level (check with a level), and where the holes are will be where the end piece mounting plates are installed. Be sure to have the word "up" facing you and seen when installing. It is easy enough to install. What I did not like was the bar itself fits in with what feels like a slim margin. It does not feel snug enough. The inside of the holder ends and the bar are slotted meaning the bar goes in one way and won't be able to turn once installed. That's a good thing. You want the bar to stay in place. What is critical: you have to have the right distance between end holders to have the bar stay in place and even then it seems a bit short on the fit meaning with just a bit of wiggle to the left or right and the bar could slip out. It all depends on how well and how tight the end pieces are. on the mounting anchors. There is an eye screw on each end; tight those and you should be good. Myself, I would have like to have seen a 1/16 inch more of a deeper fit into the bar end holder. It installed OK, and it is holding. It looks nice, and when installing it do take your time and measure. There are sheet rock anchors that when used where there is no stud to screw into for the mounting plate, will be exactly what you need. My point is if either end mounting piece ever loosens or wobbles, the bar can and will slip out. If you can get the end pieces mounted into studs, that is better. The end pieces are key. My kids tend to not hang but rather stuff towels between the bar and the wall and this puts stress on the bar and end pieces. If hanging towels, better. I'm still not sure if I am sold on the bar end fit. However, it does look nice and polished chrome was the look we wanted. It is a Kohler product and I have used Kohler products exclusively for years because of quality, price, and the look.

KOHLER CAPILANO 18 IN. TOWEL BAR IN POLISHED CHROME is a lovely addition to your bathroom. The size is just right for hand towels or one large bathsheet. I am always impressed with Kohler bathroom products, they are well made and come with simple instructions. There is a template provided so you just have to tape it to your wall and drill the holes right through it. I love the chrome finish of this bar and how well it keeps it's shine.

Nice looking design and finish, but average all aspects. This towel bar is the white bread of towel bars. Price is right in the middle of 24” towel bars. Installation was like every other towel bar out there. Construction was OK…thin metal made in the orient (Thailand). There is nothing that stands out about this towel bar. But also nothing of great detraction. Exactly what you would expect in most homes in america. This bar is the definition of average, therefore 3 stars. There is nothing wrong with average. Most of us are average.

Extremely stirdy!! There’s a key in the end that tightens it more than other brands that are loose cause it’s only a hook on. Easy too install! Will recommend this brand

More expensive towel rods are typically made of solid brass with a plated finished while cheap ones are mostly constructed of plastic materials. The plated finish on Kohler products I have found to be almost always superior to other manufacturers’ products. The brushed nickel finish on this one is flawless and is covered by a limited lifetime manufacturer’s warranty. Mounting and assembly are simple and straightforward when the enclosed full size mounting template is used to locate the mounting holes. Although a couple of different types of mounting anchors are included I would lean toward using the screw-in auger type for drywall applications and use the push in ones with tile, unless of course your are luck enough to hit studs. I generally apply a dab of silicone adhesive to the backside of the stamped metal mounting brackets before tightening the screws to help ensure the towel rod doesn’t loosen up over time. Finish the installation by carefully following the well written instructions sheet and you will have a good, solid and attractive towel rod that not only looks great but will provide years of dependable service. All fasteners are hidden which only enhances its splendid appearance.

A couple of different mounting anchors are included in the package and unless you are fortunate enough to hit studs with the mounting screws I would lean toward using the included auger-type anchors. For extra secure mounting I often apply a dab of silicone adhesive to the backside of the stamped metal mounting bracket before tightening the screws. This will ensure the towel rod doesn’t loosen up over time. To finished the installation just carefully follow the clearly written instructions sheet and you will have a good, solid and attractive towel rod that not only looks great but will provide years of dependable service. All fasteners are hidden which adds to its overall splendid appearance.

Each end of the towel rod has a notch that aligns with tabs in both wall mounts. This prevents the towel rod from rotating in the mounts; very helpful. The kit includes two types of plastic dry wall anchors; standard and an auger style, the latter of which I prefer. Mounting screws and a small hex wrench are included for attaching the rack to the wall mounts. The attachment involves a small grub screw hidden on the bottom of the wall mount. I am grateful for the included template for precise placement of the wall mount. I definitely recommended this beautiful fixture for a bright accent in any bathroom.
