Q:What size drill bit required to drill out other holes?
by|Sep 17, 2023
1 Answer
Answer This Question

A:  There are two ways to open up more faucet holes on a quartz sink. The first is by drilling. It is recommended to use a diamond tipped 1-3/8” hole saw. They cost about $35 from your local hardware store. This video link will show you how to do it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2YGprUQhF78 The second method is to use a punch and hammer. Make sure the sink is support on all 4 sides in the sink cutout of the countertop. Place the center of the punch on the position marker sticker on the top of the faucet deck. Tap with a ball pein hammer until it breaks free. Use the round part of the hammer head to open up hole further. Use a file to clean up the edges of the hole. Q:The description says minimum sink 36" but pictures and specification says 33" mimimum sink base. Kindly confirm mimimum sink base is 33".

    Answer This Question

A:  Depending on how thick the side panels are on your sink base, a 33" sink base should work without modification to your cabinet. We recommend a cut out of 32 1/4 X 21 1/4" to allow your sink to properly fit. Please contact customer service at- 866452- 7726 or via email at info@karran.com will if we can be of further assistance. Thank you

            Beautiful and easy to clean
We got the sink in white. We were missing the clips needed to install it, but Karran Customer Service was able to overnight them to us so we got them quickly. Unfortunately, the clips didn’t work great because we still have a Formica countertop and it appears the clips are more for the solid types of countertops. But the installer we hired made it work just fine. All in all, we absolutely love the sink. It’s a dream to keep clean and the larger size fits my pans better than my old 50/50 sink. The only other suggestion I have would be to offer more locations for the holes. I would have preferred the ones on the far ends to be a little less near the edges. I highly recommend this product and wonder if you make these types of sinks for bathroom vanities?

The condo I bought had a contractor-grade stainless steel sink, and it was one of the things that I had always wanted to replace. The house I had lived in previously had a nice stone, 60/40 deep sink, so I knew what I wanted to replace the old sink. The look of this new sink with a black stainless steel faucet set is perfect for my kitchen. I had a new disposal installed as well, and the stone sink doesn't RATTLE when the disposal runs at all. The 60/40 design and deep bowls allow for larger items to be cleaned in the sink without getting water everywhere. The unit was installed on 2020/08/28 and I look forward to many years of use! Would definitely recommend the model. It fit the old opening perfectly.

              Stains
Looked great brand new. I like the 60/40 with the lower middle divide. But the white composite is barely 6 months old and already has stains I haven’t been able to get out. Everything seems to stain stick to it. Can’t use abrasive cleaners like comet but liquid bleach doesn’t take stains out. I’ve soaked vinegar water with baking soda too. I think I read don’t use those Mr. Clean white sponges. I replaced a sink because the enamel was chipping, but almost wish I’d kept it instead of getting this Karran composite. Looks bad and more like years not months old. So what works to get stains out?

Response from Karran teamMar 8, 2022
Thank you for this information. As per our care guide, a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser sponge is exactly what should be used on this type of sink. Please wet it first then use it to remove the stains you are seeing. If needed you can use an abrasive cleaner on stubborn stains. We suggest Comet and a 3M Scotch-brite pad on any stains that do not come out. karran

No problems with installation but recommend installing a new faucet with it as well. The color “concrete” was a great choice and so far seems very durable.
