About This Product

This Kidde 10-Year Worry Free Battery Wireless Smoke Alarm features voice alert and wireless interconnectivity. Powered by a 10-year battery that lasts the life of the alarm, no battery installation or replacement is necessary. An "end of life" warning will alert you when it is time to replace the entire unit. The voice alarm announces "Fire!" if a hazard is detected and indicates when the Smart Hush feature has been activated. This alarm features wire-free interconnectivity with other Kidde 10-Year Wire-Free Interconnect alarms. If one unit is triggered, all interconnected alarms will sound. Wire-free interconnectivity allows for easy interconnect setup and eliminates the need for expensive rewiring. You can even install this smoke detector in a detached garage or workshop and be alerted by another detector in the house. This alarm is also compatible with the Kidde Smart Bridge app and hub (not included), which will send a message to your smart phone, tablet or PC alerting you to a potential threat.Shop all Kidde Smoke Detectors here.

A: Hello. No, for that you will want the smart alarm P4010ACS-WF model 21032064. That unit will not interconnect wirelessly using a digital radio signal but it will connect to Wi-Fi to the app.

I'm remodeling my basement and per code I needed an "interconnected" system with an alarm on every floor and in each bedroom. The Kidde system is the perfect solution. A local electrical company wanted "thousands" to hardwire to 5 locations. I'm so proud of myself that I did it myself with simple tools to secure the units to the ceiling. During setup, you turn them all on and then initiate one as the coordinator. They begin to 'talk' to each other and then the system tells you when setup is complete and how many units you have online. They work and are loud! No sleeping through a event, and we can get out of the house quickly and safely. I have the combo fire and carbon monoxide detector.

Alarm goes off for no reason
The alarm keeps going off for no reason every 12hrs. TWICE A DAY. It is no fun to wake up suddenly at 10:40pm and then again at 5:57am for a non existent fire. Downloaded the app, tried everything and NOTHING. DO NOT BUY

Constant false alarms
Installed in 2019. Last year one kept going off for no reason so I just deactivated it. This year, of the 4 left, 2 keeps throwing alarms for no reason. Garbage, DO NOT BUY. Kiddie needs to make this right.

kidde combo smoke alarm
Bought these because you can connect more than one smoke detector together. We have an apartment connected to our house so it’s convenient case there’s a fire in the apartment however two nights ago the smoke detector in the apartment went off for no reason there was no smoke or carbon monoxide and kept repeating fire fire. These are only two months old and for the expense. I would hope they would last longer before apparently being defective.

Says last 10 years.. well mine lasted 7 months. It started with the chirping every day. Then at 2 am this piercings alarm goes off indicating that the battery is dead and to cut it off you have to break the seal.

Hello. It looks like the alarm dropped from the ceiling, it looks like, or fell from high on the wall? Or someone hit it with something heavy? What happened? Please call us with the alarm in hand at 1-800-880-6788.
Same as everyone else
I have 8 of these. As everyone else says, they go off in the middle of the night with annoying frequency. I have 4 floors and extremely high ceilings on two of them, so it's outrageously disturbing when one of them decides to go off for no reason. I came to this site to see about an email address, I want a partial refund, or I will file suit in PA; I will include the local seller so that the case will stay lodged in PA. I am a product's liability defense attorney, but for this nonsense I will make an exception. Do not reply with a phone number to call, reply to my email with someone who will send me 8 normal smoke detectors or refund 90% of the 8 in 30 days please and thank you. The attached picture is from this morning, I put them all in a cooler in the garage, because these ridiculous things are still going off. I do not agree to the terms and conditions below, but it's a requirement to submit this review.

Hello. We don't offer refunds. Per the terms of the warranty, we offer replacements. If you have interconnected alarms, the first step is finding the initiating unit, as that is the key. To find the initiating unit, look for one that is flashing RED or GREEN at least once every second while in alarm mode, then follow the reset procedure on that unit. If the alarm stopped on its own before you could find that flashing light, the initiating unit will flash for 1.5 seconds every 10 seconds. If there are no obvious signs of a fire, the alarm should be cleaned before being reinstalled. False alarms are most commonly caused by something interfering with the sensor. To clean, after disconnecting the alarm and removing any removable battery: hold the unit by its edge and thoroughly blow through the gap on the side of the unit with compressed air (like keyboard cleaner). We recommend cleaning out all of your smoke alarms at least every 6 months to a year and at this point we would recommend cleaning out all of your other alarms as well as a preventative. Some of your alarms may be in one the locations to avoid listed in the owner's manual. This would especially include alarms being installed within 3 ft (.9m) of a forced air supply ducts used for heating or cooling, ceiling or whole house ventilating fans, or other high air flow areas. We recommend that alarms not be installed near vents, flues, chimneys, or fans. We recommend that alarms not be installed near doors or windows near areas directly exposed to the weather. We strongly recommend not to install these alarms in garages, attics, and crawl spaces as you will get temperatures, dust, insects, and chemicals that can cause nuisance alarms. Try cleaning out the alarms. If you have the issue again, find the alarm setting off all of the others and call us with that alarm in hand at 1-800-880-6788 so we can get this resolved for you.
False alarms! Do not buy.
I installed 4 interconnected units in our house a month ago. Last week we were woken to false alarms at 12, 3, 4:30 and 4:40 AM. Each time we woke in a panic and scrambled to see if there was a fire, and then had to put our children back to sleep. Because they are interconnected, it took a long time to figure out which unit was malfunctioning. As previous reviewers have said, to disable the alarm you have to turn the tab OPPOSITE of the direction indicated. In my sleep-deprived state, I jammed a screwdriver in the slot and turned clockwise, as it says, as hard as I could, only to strip the plastic. I am replacing all of the units with a different brand as this is an unacceptable failure which unfortunately seems to be all too common based on other reviews. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS ALARM. Kidde is wrong to continue selling such a terrible product, especially one intended to save homes and even lives. Kidde, stop selling this alarm. Provide a quality product consumers deserve.

False Alarms
I moved in the house two years ago. I had an issue with one of my three smoke detectors not syncing up. Called customer support and they replaced it immediately. Now I have a smoke alarm that it going off randomly. Tonight, it set off with a “Fire! Fire! Fire!” The house was fine, I “hushed” the alarm in my hand and it told me “can not be hushed, too much smoke in the area”. I have lost confidence in these alarms and don’t trust them in my house.
