20 cu. ft. French Door Refrigerator in Stainless Steel, Counter Depth

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Not quality with the Kitchenaid name. Drawers are light and cheap and don’t slide easily. No hex screw to adjust door on the right side so doors are a bit out of alignment.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall, it’s a very nice refrigerator. I didn’t think I’d like the inside the refrigerator water spout but I don’t seem to mind it and it doesn’t drip so that’s good. It’s a bit smaller than the previous refrigerator which was a Whirlpool, but there’s plenty of room. It did come with a minor blemish on the right front door to look close to see it but there’s a dimple. It’s quiet and cold all in all a chair. Good refrigerator probably would’ve given it five stars if not for the dimple.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I like this fridge. Attractive outside, decent layout inside. Pros: Seems to work fine. Features like door alarm are useful. Very attractive. Would rather buy KitchenAid than an offshore appliance. Cons: 1 - Drawers feel like cheap plastic. They are plastic and slide on plastic guides which leave a small trail of plastic dust after some use - there is no lubrication so it is plastic on plastic and is wearing, For the cost of this appliance, there should be quality drawer hardware. This is disappointing. I know they will wear constantly. Contacted my dealer to ask about lubricant, was told there isn't one. 2 - Water dispenser. Seems like a poor design. Rather than being able to push your glass against the button, it is designed to require two hands to operate. The button is above the dispenser so you need one hand to hold the glass and another to press the button. This is goofy. Should require one hand to operate. Also, the top part of the the dispenser fell off after a few months of use. This is the trim above the button. It snaps on but the fit is poor so it fell off (!). Details like the dispenser design and lack of decent drawer hardware or lubricant makes me question the overall quality. These are small details that should not be difficult to get right the first time. Would I buy this refrigerator again? Likely. But I might shop a little more carefully. Happy with everything else so far. All visible appliances in my kitchen are KitchenAid. Induction range, microwave and refrigerator. Washer and dryer are Maytag (same company). All new within about 2 years. Dishwasher is Miele as European size (reduced depth) was required. Previous dishwasher was KitchenAid and was a workhorse and still working when replaced - although it had issues with latch. Overall great products and I have confidence in them. May provide update to review if these (minor) issues are resolved.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was the only fridge available for next day delivery when mine broke down. The good: It is attractive. It is a lot quieter that my old one. It keeps everything cold so far. It is counter depth, which looks great in any kitchen design. The ice maker works well. The bad: The interior cold water dispenser only gives out a trickle of water so it would take a very long time to fill up a glass of water. The shelves in the upper part are open at the rear of the fridge allowing small items to fall down to next shelf. The red fastener as seen in the included photos here is ugly and looks out of place due to color. The bin pictured here cannot be placed at the top of the fridge door so it wastes space.

I don’t know how it does it, but this refrigerator makes produce last longer!! Having the little filtered water dispenser inside the unit instead on on the door gave me that option without the worry of ice/water on my kitchen floor due to mishaps with my grandkids filling up. I couldn’t be more pleased.

I have had this refrigerator in use around a year. The doors are held together by plastic, structurally they are cheap junk. One morning my wife told me the refrigerator wouldn’t open. I took it apart to find the plastic pieces that hold this piece of sheet metal together had split. We contacted kitchen aid and sent pics. Now we are paying a repairman for their poor design. Pass the buck kitchen bandaid. How cheap can they be? Hard pass on this product if you’re reading this review. Plastic junk in metal lipstick.

This KitchenAid model has very basic functionality (which is a pro in my opinion) and provides a very clean, upscale look. Appliances made by Whirlpool are always a good choice, and this one is no exception. We are very happy with our purchase so far.
